Barnet won through to the Quarter Finals of the Herts Senior Cup last night with a 4-1 win over Hadley at Potters Bar. Barnet manager, Paul Fairclough chose not to play any trialists in the game and the side and the team was a mixture of first team squad players and players from the youth team.

The Bees were a goal down to their South Midlands League opponents at half time, but improved as the game went on, young centre back, Ryan Scott grabbing the equaliser in the 73rd minute. The game ended 1-1 after 90 minutes, forcing extra time. Barnet then proved too strong for Hadley with goals from Mauro Vilhete, Charlie Stimson and Jamal Lowe giving the Bees what looked a more comfortable win than it was.

In the Quarter Finals, Barnet will play away at Broxbourne Borough V & E next Tuesday, 15th February. The kick off is 7.45pm. The winners of that much will be away to Cheshunt in the semi-finals. The other semi-final is between Ware and Stevenage.

Like Hadley, Broxbourne play in the South Midlands League Premier Division and are currently placed 12th in the league table, one place above Hadley. Barnet last won the county cup in 2006/07 when they defeated Hemel Hempstead Town 4-2 in the final at Letchworth.
