After another eventful weekend at the bottom of League Two, Barnet moved up a place to 19th place after their 3-1 home win over Chester City. Two goals by leading scorer, John O'Flynn, one from the penalty spot, and another from Paul Furlong gave the Bees a vital three points. Kevin Ellison scored for the Seals. O'Flynn now has fourteen goals this season. Barnet now have 33 points from 34 games and are now eight points ahead of Bournemouth with a game in hand, while Chester remain 21st with 27 points from 36 games and have now gone 14 matches without a win.
Meanwhile, Accrington slip to 20th after they lost 2-0 at home to play-off hopefuls, Gillingham. Simeon Jackson and Dennis Oli scored for the Gills. Accrington have now gone eight matches without a win and like Chester are having a bad run at the worst possible time. Accrington have 30 points from 34 games.
Grimsby Town grabbed their first win in 10 matches with a stunning 5-1 win at home to Lincolnshire rivals, Lincoln City. Adam Proudlock grabbed a hat trick and Akpa Akpro scored twice. Dany N'Guessan scored the Imps' goal. The win takes the Mariners out of the bottom two and they are now 22nd with 26 points from 35 matches, only a point below Chester and with a game in hand.
Bournemouth slipped back into the relegation zone following their goalless draw at home to Port Vale. The Cherries must have hoped they could have done better at home against a side that has been struggling for form. The Cherries now have 25 points from 35 games, a point from safety.
Bottom club Luton Town slumped to a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Exeter City, who are back-to-back promotions having come up from the Blue square Premier last season. Adam Stansfield and Liam Sercombe put the Grecians 2-0 ahead and while Tom Craddock pulled one back for the Hatters, they could not rescue a point. Luton remain bottom with just 10 points and are 16 points behind Grimsby and safety, though they do have a game in hand. However, it is beginning to look an impossible task known for the Hatters who suffered a 30 point deduction at the beginning of the season.
