This is not the first time Gary has had a go at managing a team. In the 1993/1994 season where the Bees finished bottom of League One.
The Bees new reserve side will play in the Pontins League Eastern Division. Along with Colchester United, Leyton Orient,Luton Town, MK Dons,Northampton Town, Oxford United, Southend and bitter Hertfordshire rivals Stevenage Borough.
The Barnet reserve team folded in 2003 due to the Bees just fielding Youth team players and trialists for every reserve match. The Bees had to do this because well there were no other players. So the reserve side was folded and Barnet Protec youth team who have an Under 18 & Under 19 side was formed. Bees players that have come through the protec scheme include Warren Mcbean,Lee Roache and Jamie Elmes.
The Bees last reserve season in 2002/2003 ended up with the Bees finishing bottom.
