Barnet were completely outplayed in the 90 minutes by a strong Hayes side who should have buried the young bees. Barnet gave way an early penalty which was well saved by Will Viner. But from the resulting corner, Hayes no.5, Tony Privett, scored with a shot that some bees players thought didnt cross the line.
Hayes controlled the rest of the first half and bees were very lucky to be only a goal down after a very poor performance. In the second half, they lifted their game a bit, but Hayes had chance after chance to score, but a mixture of good goalkeeping from Viner, some good defending by Adam Kingston and poor finishing kept bees in with a chance. Hayes were unlucky with a shot that hit the bar, but slowly Barnet came a bit more into the game and with only a minute left, they broke wide on the right in their best move of the game and a fine cross was banged home by Luke Majid.

In extra time, bees were much the best side and were unlucky not to score, though Hayes too had chances. In the penalty shoot out, Barnet scored all their penalties. Hayes' first penalty was balloonned over the bar, Viner saved the second and though Hayes scored with the third, Barnet won 4-1.
Barnet are away to Haringey Borough in the next round.
