PAST TIMES: Lincoln City

On Saturday, the Bees entertain Lincoln City. Since returning to the football league in 2005, Barnet had not gained a single point against the Imps in five meetings between the clubs. This changed when the two sides met at Underhill in March and the Bees ran out 5-2 winners with two goals from Adam Birchall and one apiece for Anthony Thomas, Max Porter and Albert Adomah. Ben Wright scored the two Lincoln goals. Our record since promotion back to the football league in 2005 is P6 W1 D0 L5 F9 A19 PTS 2.
In January 2006, the Bees travelled to Lincoln City and made a good start, an excellent ball from Dean Sinclair finding Guiliano Grazioli to put the Bees 1-0 up, but that was to be the highlight of the match for Barnet as goals from Kerr, Robinson, McCombe and Yeo gave the Imps a 4-1 win. In February, Lincoln were at Underhill and Barnet's start was even better. Goals from Ben Strevens and Tresor Kandol gave the Bees a 2-0 lead early in the second half, but two dreadful goalkeeping blunders from Ross Flitney let in goals from McCombe and Birch and Lincoln went on to clinch a 3-2 win with a goal from Brown..
In October, the following season, with Barnet sliding towards the relegation zone, Lincoln came to Underhill and humiliated the Bees with a 5-0 hammering, Forrester scoring a hat trick and Beevers and Mettam scoring a goal apiece.
In March 2007, the Bees were a bit unlucky to come away from Lincoln with nothing after a fin second half performance, Adam Birchall, in particular, coming close to scoring, but a Frecklington goal was enough to give the Imps a 1-0 win. teams from Lincolnshire over the two seasons reads; P 12 W 1 D1 L 10 PTS 4. The Bees had taken just 4 points out of a possible 36. All 4 of those points came against Boston. Against both Lincoln City and Grimsby Town, Barnet have yet to take a single point since returning to the league.
Last season at Lincoln in December, the Bees went down 4-1 with just an Adam Birchall goal to show for their efforts. but then there was that win at Underhill in March to end a terrible run of results against the Imps.
Earlier this season, Lincoln won 2-0 at Sincel Bank in September.
