Barnet and Luton Town met in a pre season friendly two years ago when Jason Puncheon and Liam Hatch scored in a 2-1 win for the Bees at Underhill
In July 2001 the two clubs met at Underhill, again in a pre-season friendly with Junior Agogo scoring from the penalty spot for the Bees.
In 2008/09, the two clubs met in League Two and the Hatters won 3-1 at Luton, Abu Ogogo scoring for Barnet and the return game at Underhill was drawn 1-1, Adam Birchall scoring for the Bees. Luton were relegated to the Conference at the end of the season
In 2013/14, following Barnet's relegation to the Conference, the two clubs met again, this time over the Christmas and New Year period. The Hatters won both matches 2-1 with Jake Hyde scoring the Barnet goal in both games. Luton were promoted back to League Two at the end of the season.
In October 1982, the two clubs met at Underhill in a benefit match for Bees' midfield player, Steve Brinkman, who had suffered a serious heart attack in an Alliance Premier League match at Weymouth earlier in the season. Luton won the match 3-2 with both the Barnet goals being scored by Danny Westwood.
Barnet clubs and Luton clubs have met in the FA Cup in the early part of the 20th century. In 1911, Barnet Alston played Luton Clarence in the 1st qualifying round of the FA Cup. Barnet won 1-0. In 1912, they defeated Luton Crusaders 2-0 and Luton Alliance 5-2 in the FA Cup. In 1913, they won a preliminary round FA Cup match against Luton Trinity 3-0. In 1914, they defeated Luton Alliance 4-0 and Luton Clarence 4-2.In 1911, Barnet FC lost a preliminary round FA Cup match to Luton Clarence by 4-2.
Luton Town did not evolve though from any of these teams. They were formed in 1885 from a merger between two local clubs, the Wanderers and Excelsior.
