PAST TIMES: Preston North End

Barnet first played Preston in the league in 1994/95 at Underhill in Division 3 (now League Two) and the Bees won 2-1 with goals from Dougie Freedman and Lee Hodges. Preston won the return 1-0 at Deepdale, the only league win for Preston against Barnet. The following season, Barnet completed the double winning both matches 1-0, Paul Wilson scoring both goals!

In 1964-65, Barnet reached the 3rd round for the first time in their history where they were drawn at home against Preston North End, who only the previous spring had been FA Cup finalists. Barnet went 2-0 down, but pulled back to 2-2 with goals from Figg and Whyte. But with Roger Figg a passenger and no subs in those days, the Bees were under pressure and an unlucky own goal by Terry Casey broke Bees' hearts and won the game for the 2nd division side by 3-2.
