Barnet first played Swansea in 1993/94, the one season that Barnet played in the third tier of English football. The Swans did the double over the Bees winning 1-0 at Underhill and 2-0 at Swansea.

By 1996, Swansea had dropped down into Division 3 (now League Two). The Swans did the double over the Bees in 1996/97 winning 3-0 at Swansea and 1-0 at Underhill. The following season, however, Barnet completed the double over Swansea, winning 2-0 at Underhill, with goals from Ken Charlery and Paul Wilson and by the same score at Vetch Field, Scott McGleish and Phil Simpson scoring for the Bees. That season the Bees made the play-offs.

In 1998/99, the two clubs met three times and Barnet lost them all!! Firstly, the two clubs were drawn together in the 1st round of the Auto Windscreens Shield (a predecessor of the JPT), Swansea winning 4-1 at the Vetch, with McGleish scoring for Barnet. In the league, Swansea won 2-1 at the Vetch, Mark Arber scoring for Barnet and 1-0 at Underhill.

The last season that the two clubs met was in 1999/00. Barnet won 2-1 away in Swansea, Darren Currie and Ken Charlery scoring for Barnet but lost 1-0 at Underhill. Swansea went on to win the Division 3 title and gain promotion, while Barnet lost to Peterborough in the play-off semi-finals.
