Barnet travel to Bradford tomorrow night

Tomorrow night, the Bees travel to Valley Parade to play Bradford City who are currently in mid table safety in 10th place. They beat Morecambe last Saturday, 1-0 with the goal coming from Eddie Johnson. The club are managed by Stuart McCall.

Barnet have only played City on three previous occasions. In 1993-94, in the Bees only season in the third tier, Bradford won 2-1 with the winning goal being scored by ex-bee, Paul Showler. Shaun Close scored for Barnet. In the return at Valley Parade the score was again 2-1 with Tony Dolby scoring for Barnet. One of the Bradford goals was scored by Des Hamilton who signed for Barnet in 2004 but never played. Jon Ford who played for Barnet between 1997 and 1999 is another ex-bee who also played for the Bantams.

Earlier this season, Barnet recorded their first ever win over City with a 2-1 win at Underhill. An own goal and a late wonder strike from Jason Puncheon gave the Bees the points.

Now for a look at the Bantams:

Goalkeepers:

Scott Loach is on loan until the end of the season from Watford and has had loan spells earlier this season at Morecambe and Stafford Rangers.

Donovan Ricketts signed from Bolton in 2004 and is a full Jamaican international. He has made over 100 senior appearances for City but is currently having problems with a work permit.

Defenders:

Darren Williams joined City from Hartlepool in the summer. He had previously played for Sunderland, where he made over 250 appearances including 108 in the Premiership and Cardiff City and York.

Paul Heckingbottom is in his second spell at Valley Parade, having signed for the Bantams recently following a loan spell. He played for Manchester United, Sunderland, Hartlepool, Darlington and Norwich before moving to City in 2003 and being voted player of the year for 2003-04. He then moved to Sheffield Wednesday and then Barnsley before returning to Valley Parade last summer.

Mark Bower is a product of the youth system and he made his debut in 1998. He has since made over 20 first team appearances for the Bantams.

David Wetherall signed from Leeds in 1999. He made over 200 first team appearances for Leeds. Since moving to Valley Parade he has over 300 appearances for City.

Ben Starosta is on loan until the end of the season from Sheffield United. He had a loan spell earlier in the season with Brentford.

Matthew Clarke joined City from Darlington in 2006. He made over 150 appearances for Darlington and has also played for Halifax Town.

Thomas Moncur is on loan from Fulham.

Midfield:

Paul Evans signed in the summer from Swindon Town. He began his career with Shrewsbury making over 200 appearances for them and scoring 36 goals. He moved to Brentford in 1999 for £110,000 and made 157 appearances for the Bees scoring 34 goals. He then had a first spell at Bradford City before moving on to Blackpool and Nottm Forest before returning to Valley Parade for a second spell.

Omar Daley joined the club in January 2007 from American club, Charleston Battery. He has previous league experience with Reading and Preston.Joe Colbeck is a product of the youth system who has made a real breakthrough this season at Valley Parade after having a short loan spell at Darlington. He has scored 5 goals in 23 starts this season for City.

Tom Penford is another home produced player who made his debut in 2004 but has found it difficult to break into the first team until recently. He has made 10 first team starts this season and scored his first senior goal recently in the Bantams' 3-1 win at Darlington.

Kyle Nix signed in the summer and has scored 5 goals in 26 starts for City. He previously played for Sheffield United.

Scott Phelan signed last summer from Everton.

Lee Bullock signed in 2007 from Hartlepool after a short loan spell. He started his career at York City where he made over 150 first team appearances. He subsequently played for Cardiff before moving to Hartlepool in 2005. He has played on loan this season for Hartlepool, Mansfield and Bury.

Strikers:

Eddie Johnson is a former Manchester United youngster who signed for City in 2006. While at Old Trafford he spent time on loan at Belgian club, Royal Antwerp and at Coventry and Crewe.

Alex Rhodes joined last summer from Brentford and has loan experience with Swindon Town and Grays Athletic.

Barry Conlon is a much travelled striker who joined last summer from Mansfield Town. He had spells at QPR, Manchester City, Southend and York City before moving to Darlington in 2001 where he made over 100 appearances in three seasons scoring 42 goals. He later played for Barnsley and then returned to Darlington before moving on to Mansfield in 2007.

Peter Thorne made his debut back in 1994-95 with Swindon and scored 27 goals for the Robins before moving to Stoke in 1997. He made over 150 appearances for the Potteries club scoring 69 goals before moving on to Cardiff in 2001 where he went on to make over 100 appearances for the Bluebirds scoring over 50 goals before moving to Norwich in 2005 and joining Bradford last summer. He has scored 13 goals this season.

Luke Medley was a Protec youngster at Barnet before moving to city and has made 5 substitute appearances for City scoring once.

Willy Topp was signed this season from Chilean football and has made 6 starts for the Bantams.

David Brown was signed in the January transfer window from Nottm Forest.
