MATCH PREVIEW: Aldershot

Last updated : 14 October 2011 By Jaybee

Barnet entertain Aldershot tomorrow afternoon looking to end a four match losing run in the league. The Bees have suffered two consecutive last gasp defeats in their last two matches; at home to Northampton Town and away at Shrewsbury and continue to concede far too many goals. In between those two defeats there has been a 3-1 win at Gillingham in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy which has seen the Bees progress to an area quarter final away clash at Cheltenham Town.

The Bees have a nearly full squad to choose from with the exception of Jordan Parkes, who misses out with an ankle injury. Mark Hughes is set to return after missing the last two games and Lawrie Sanchez may bring him at right back to help stabilise the Bees’ leaky defence against an Aldershot side who are also struggling in their league matches. Meanwhile, Liam O’Brien could continue in goal in preference to Dean Brill. The Shots are 18th in the league table, 5 points ahead of Barnet but have a drawn a plum tie in the 4th round of the Carling Cup against Manchester United after having defeated West Ham, Carlisle United and Rochdale in the previous rounds. Like Barnet, Aldershot will be looking to convert their cup form into much needed league points.

Barnet’s side tomorrow is likely to look something like the following:

O’Brien

Hughes Dennehy Leach Borrowdale

Marshall, Kamdjo Deering Byrne

Taylor McLeod
