A look at the current Barnet squad

Manager

Ian Hendon joined Barnet in the summer of 2003 from Peterborough United. He began his career at Tottenham Hotspur where he was capped by the England under-21 team. He had short loan spells at Portsmouth, Barnsley and Leyton Orient before joining Orient in 1993. He made over 150 appearnces for them before moving to Notts County in 1997 for £50,000. He captained County to the 3rd Division title in 1998, but then joined Northampton Town in 1999 for £25,000, where he also won promotion from the 3rd division. In 2000, he joined Sheffield Wednesday for £40,000 and made over 50 first team appearnces for the Owls.

Hendon had a short loan spell at Barnet in 2002/03, making 4 appearnces for the Bees and scoring 1 goal, at home to Doncaster Rovers. He made his Barnet debut at home to Dagenham & Redbridge on Boxing Day, 2002. He left Sheffield Wednesday very soon after his loan spell at Underhill finished and joined Peterborough United in January 2003. He returned to Underhill in the summer of 2003 as club captain and captained Barnet to the Conference play-offs at the end of that season. The following season, 2004/05, he led Barnet to the Nationwide Conference title as Barnet returned to the football league. He was appointed assistant manager to Paul Fairclough in the summer of 2007, but was still registered as a player and has been allocated a squad number again for the coming season. Hendon became caretaker manager at the end of 2008 and was confirmed as full time manager in April 2009. Barnet League Appearances: 134(5), Goals: 19.

Goalkeepers:

Lee Harrison began his career at Charlton athletic and had loan spells at Gillingham and Fulham while at Charlton. He joined Fulham on a permanent contract in 1992, but only made 11 starts in nearly 4 years at Craven Cottage. He moved to Barnet in 1996 as part of the deal that took Maik Taylor to Fulham. At Barnet, Lee was in the team that reached the 3rd division play-offs twice and was player of the year three times. He made over 250 appearances for the Bees before being loaned out to Peterborough and Leyton Orient in 2002/03 and then signed for Orient for £10,000 in April 2003

After more than 50 first team appearances for Orient, he joined Peterborough in 2005, before re-joining Barnet a year later as a goalkeeping coach as well as a player. He was made club captain in 2007 and has made 87 league appearances for the Bees in his second spell at Underhill. Barnet League Appearances: 318(3).

Defenders:

Joe Devera is a product of the PROTEC system and made his full debut in 2006 at Cardiff City in the Carling Cup. He was voted player of the year and most improved player for 2008. Barnet League Appearances: 96(4), Goals: 1.

Gary Breen joined Barnet in December 2008. He has been capped by the Republic of Ireland 62 times, scoring 7 goals. He has played for a number of clubs including Wolves, Sunderland, West Ham, Coventry and Birmingham. Barnet League Appearances: 22.

Ismail Yakubu is a product of the youth system who made his debut in 2002. He was a member of the team that won the Nationwide Conference in 2005 and has been capped by the England National Game XI. Barnet League Appearances: 174(7) Goals: 11.

Kenny Gillet joined Barnet from French club Caen in 2007 after impressing when on trial with the club. Barnet League Appearances: 58(5).

Midfield:

Mark Hughes joined Barnet in 2009 from Chester. He was previously with Stevenage, Oldham and played for Tottenham as a youngster. He has signed a new contract for one year in May 2009. Barnet League Appearances: 8(1).Neal Bishop joined Barnet in the summer of 2007 from York City, where he had been the Conference side's player of the year for 2006/07. He was capped by Paul Fairclough with the England National Game XI. Before moving to York, he played for Scarborough, Whitby Town, Gateshead and Spennymoor. Barnet League Appearances: 80(3) Goals: 3.

Danny Hart is a local lad who joined the club from Borehamwood after impressing in pre-season trials in the summer of 2007. He spent much of his first season on loan at Northwood, but made two appearances as a substitute. He was on loan at Thurrock last season. Barnet League Appearances: 2(3), Goals; 1.

Albert Adomah was signed from non-league club, Harrow Borough and scored on his debut at Hereford United. He has made a huge impact at Underhill since his arrival and has become a firm favourite with the fans as well as attraction a host of scouts from Championship and Premiership clubs. He was voted young player of the year by the Barnet supporters for season 2008/09. Barnet League Appearances: 67 Goals: 9.

Joe Tabiri was named as a substitute on a number of occasions last season and was given the number 25 shirt. He is a product of the PROTEC scheme and has signed a two year deal for the Bees. He has had loan spells at Lewes and Grays this season. Barnet League Appearances: 4(3).

Nicky Deverdics signed from Gretna in July 2008. Deverdics is a former Newcastle United youngster, who has also played for Gateshead and Bedlington Terriers. He joined Gretna in March 2007 and made 34 appearnces for the club, 26 of them last season in the SPL. He scored 3 goals. He was voted most improved player of the year by the Barnet supporters for season 2008/09. Barnet League Appearances: 22(7) Goals: 1.

Strikers:

Luke Medley joined Barnet in June 2008 after turning down the offer of a new contract at Bradford City. Medley was a PROTEC youngster at Barnet before moving to Tottenham Hotspur and then Bradford City and made just 1 start and another 8 substitute appearances for City scoring once. He came on as a substitute for the Bantams in last season's match at Underhill and in the return match at Valley Parade in April. He had a loan spell at Havant & Waterlooville last season. Barnet League Appearances: 5(13) Goals: 1.

Cliff Akurang signed in the 2008 January transfer window from Blue Square Premier club, Histon, where he had scored 10 goals in 19 matches. He has also played for Heybridge, Thurrock, Dagenham & Redbridge and Hitchin Town. He had a loan spell at Weymouth last season. Barnet League Appearances: 29(16) Goals: 10.

Elliott Charles is a striker who scored 20 goals at all levels last season. He is a product of the PROTEC scheme and has signed a two year deal for the Bees. He had loan spells at Farnborough and Hemel Hempstead last season. Barnet League Appearances: 0(5).

John O'Flynn joined Barnet in September 2008 from Irish club, Cork City. He is a Republic of Ireland under 21 international, scorin 3 goals in 6 matches. He was voted Barnet supporters player of the year for 2008/09 and finished the season as top scorer. Barnet League Appearances: 32(2) Goals: 17.
