Allen, back at the club he managed in the Conference seven years ago, saw his new side come back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with leaders Chesterfield on Saturday.
The Bees remain in the drop zone, two points behind Burton who they face next weekend, and Allen is confident they have what it takes to win their survival battle.
He said: "Coming into the game it was a challenge and a difficult one to face up to, but my God didn't they play well?
"The players have been absolutely fantastic - their attitude, their dedication has been inspirational to me.
"I cannot believe the unity and the spirit that that team showed in the second half from 2-0 down because they dug so deep. It was only what they deserved - the minimum of a point."
