Barnet went 10 points clear of the Nationwide Conference league with a stunning comeback against ten-man Leigh to run out 3-2 winners at Underhill.
The Bees had the best possible start going ahead on two minutes with their first attack of the game. Richard Graham's skills on the left eventually saw the ball fall to Simon Clist and his cross was put away by Giuliano Grazioli for his 14th and Barnet's 50th goal of the season. Current form suggested the Bees would romp to victory. But their express form ran into buffers against the plucky Railwaymen. Awarded a penalty when Dwane Lee handled in the box, Karl Rose sent Bees keeper Scott Tynan the wrong way for the equaliser on 15 minutes. Shell-shocked Barnet lost shape and confidence as particularly Andy Roscoe and Gary Williams from the left took control. Leigh skipper Gareth Stoker put his side in the lead on 21 minutes after combining well with Chris Simm before rounding Tynan in the Barnet goal. With Bailey's thumping equaliser from 12 yards, a draw seemed a fair result; however Roach popped up in the dying seconds to score from Ben Strevens. | Richie Graham- MOTM Related links |
