Barnet will begin the new League Two season away at Lincoln City on 8th August. The Bees' first home match of the season is against Shrewsbury Town on the following Saturday.

Barnet are away at Aldershot on Boxing Day and face Northampton Town at Underhill, two days later. The last game of the season is at home to Rochdale on the 8th May 2010.

The match at Lincoln will be only the second time since 2003 that the Bees have started the season with an away match. The last time was two seasons ago when Barnet played out a goalless draw at Morecambe. Barnet have yet to win an opening day fixture since returning to the football league in 2005. In 2005/06, they drew 1-1 at home to Bristol Rovers, 2006/07 they lost 1-0 at home to Torquay, the following season saw the goalless draw at Morecambe and last season they lost 3-1 at home to Chesterfield.

The last time that Barnet won an opening day fixture was in August 2004 when the Bees won a Nationwide Conference match 3-1 at Underhill against Forest Green Rovers. Giuliano Grazioli scored twice for Barnet and Richard Graham scored the other Barnet goal. The Bees went on to win promotion at the end of the season.

The last time the Bees won away on the opening day of the season was back in August 1999 when they won 2-0 at Chester with goals from Mark Arber and Ken Charlery.
