"In the past the club was reliant on Guiliano Grazioli and if he wasn't scoring, the goals weren't coming from anywhere," Fairclough told BBC Sport.

"Midfield players only scored seven goals in the whole of last season.

"We have surpassed that already and one of my intentions was to boost firepower from other areas."

Graz was named the Conference Player of the Month for August and has scored seven goals in his first seven games of the season.

"Grazioli is a predator - give him a chance and he will stick it away," added Fairclough.

"He is deadly in front of goal and has scored a couple of spectacular ones this season.

"Dean Sinclair has come in and got four goals and there are more players dipping in with goals from midfield.

"That has been a key factor in taking some of the responsibility off Grazioli."
