The ground improvements will cost around £3 million if the council
agree to the plans put forward by the Bees.
The plans are that a new South stand will be build to make the ground capacity 6000.
But this is just a short term end to the problem if Barnet go up they will need to find a new home within 3 years of promotion or they will be kicked out of the league. With or without the improvements.
Bees get grant for Underhill upgrade.
Club spokesman Dennis Signy said: "The news of the Football Stadia Improvement Fund grant is a shot in the arm for our plans, especially with the team topping the Nationwide Conference table and expectation being so high. Hopefully it will focus attention on the timetable to get the planning process in place"..
The Bees ground capacity is currently 5000.
