"It was a bad result, Barnet did very well and were better than us in the second half. We conceded late on to give them the win and that is what we cannot do. If we are having a bad time we have to stay tight, lick our wounds but at least take a point. There were lots of reasons why they were better than us and we have spoken about them. They closed us down better, worked harder and used the ball better.
"I could not fault the first half but then we stopped working
"Some of our problems came because one or two people went in to their shell. They were not brave enough on and off the ball. If you allow the pressure to get to you, you will have a tough time. We looked fragile in too many areas in the second half but we have enough good characters in the dressing room to bounce back.
"We were apprehensive but we should not be. We were at home, playing in front of a good crowd but some of us did not handle the situation. We did not do enough with the ball second half and it is a nasty start to the season.
"The work that we do in training did not show through for their goals. It was a decent performance on Saturday, but a big let down in the second half here. We will have bad games but we have to come back from them and bounce back. There will be good competition for places here in the next few weeks and I will be able to change things in the future if I need to.
"There was nothing really happening in the second half in either goal area until their second goal. They will say they deserved the win for their second half performance, but we contributed to our own downfall. Individuals and the group know that. It's Ok knowing it but it's another thing doing it.
"A couple of the injured lads could be back for the weekend. Andy Kirk is at the very front of the queue to return at the moment. Lawrie Dudfield capped off a sound display from him with a goal. He tracked back, worked hard and looked a threat in the first half especially.
"The fans got behind us when we were working hard. If we lose then you can't expect them to be singing and cheering and I feel their frustration at this result.
"It will be another tough game on Saturday. Wrexham will be title contenders but we need to rebound from this defeat and make it a lesson, not a trend. The proof will be in the next 5 games or so.
"We will go back to work and prepare ourselves for Saturday. At the end of the season we want to produce something to be proud of, and we need to take a big step forward from this game."
