Clist was put on the list after some poor appearances in midfield last season and missing the crucial penalty against Shrewsbury town in the play off semi final but the season gave Clist another chance after injures to Chris Plummer and Danny Maddix on the opening day meant that Fairclough had to move Simon King in to the centre of defence and Clist at left back and then after Plummer left Fairclough used the same method again and has never looked back. Simon won the October player of the month. Although Simon is not officially off the list Paul Fairclough said: "As far as i am concerned he is no longer on it that is something i will have to address."
