"Disgrace"
Bees chairman Tony Kleanthous said that some of the behaviour from the Barnet fans was "Disgraceful!" The "disgrace" from the fans was the shouting of "STILL OUT!" After the first goal and then again after the 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th. But thats not it! There was abusive chants at him after the game, Barnet-mad.co.uk will not post what was said for legal reasons.
A club statement said:
club statement said: "The reputation of Barnet FC and their supporters is better than that. We have magnificent supporters who are admired throughout the country for their vociferous support and good natured banter. We don't want this spoilt by the bitter actions of a few individuals living in the past and still unable to get over relegation from the Football League.
"Supporters should have been celebrating and cheering a fantastic afternoon and a fantastic result rather than denigrating a decent man who gave five years service and twice led the club to the play-offs.
"The chairman felt that some of the personal abuse directed at John Still and his family went beyond a joke and even soured the result for him.
"The chanting may have been amusing when Barnet went two ahead but was over the top when the game was over and, allied to the abuse and bad language from the few, did not help the good name of Barnet FC.
"The club extends an apology to John Still and assures him he is always welcome back at Underhill".
