Latest on Bees' Squad

At the time of writing, Barnet have still quite a small squad of just 17 players, including just the one keeper, namely, Lee Harrison, who has missed the last few pre-season games. Former Luton Town keeper, Robert Beckwith has been playing as a trialist but it remains to be seen if he signs in time for Saturday's match at Morecambe.

With Joe Devera back at St.Albans and Histon, the back four looks set to be Devera, Ismail Yakabu, Sagi Burton and Nicky Nicolau. Burton is a summer signing from Shrewsbury Town. Paul Fairclough has offered a contract to left back Kenny Gillet from French club, Caen.

In midfield there have been 5 new arrivals so far this summer. These are; Max Porter from Conf. South side, Bishops Stortford; Ashley Carew from Conf. South, Fisher Athletic; Neal Bishop from Nationwide Conference, York City; Michael Leary from League 1 side, Luton Town and Stephane Seanla from Watford. The only remaining midfield player from last season is Jason Puncheon who has been in blistering form this pre season, with a hat trick at St.Albans and goals against Histon and QPR.

The likely starting midfield is; Carew, Bishop, Leary and Puncheon.

Up front, the club has just 4 strikers, two of whom, Liam Hatch and Giuliano Grazioli, are transfer listed. The other strikers are Adam Birchall and summer signing from Southern League, Hemel Hempstead, Anthony Thomas. Birchall scored at Histon and Thomas scored twice against Northwood and also at St.Albans and has looked promising. Former Solihull Borough striker, Rory May has been trying out up front and scored against Northwood.

Birchall and Thomas look likely to start up front on Saturday.

Likely team at the moment; Harrison; Devera, Yakabu, Burton, Nicolau; Carew, Bishop, Leary, Puncheon; Birchall, Thomas.
