Barnet will face Chesterfield on the opening day of the new season on 9th August at home. The football league fixtures for the new season were announced at 10.00am this morning.

Barnet will then be away at Brighton in the 1st round of the Carling Cup during the following week before meeting Rochdale away the following Saturday, on the 16th. Interestingly, following all the times that this fixture has been postponed in recent seasons, it has been scheduled for a summer date to prevent the likelihood of this happening again.

Barnet's 2nd home fixture of the season, on the 23rd, is a London derby against the other Bees, Brentford. Brentford completed a double over Barnet who will be looking to avenge those defeats in the coming season.

Other interesting fixtures see Dagenham & Redbridge at Underhill for the other London derby on January 17th, newly promoted Exeter are at Underhill on October 25th, while the other promoted side, Aldershot are Barnet's visitors in the Boxing Day fixture. Two days later, the Bees travel to Bournemouth, relegated last season from League One.

The Bees' last home game of the season is at home to Port Vale, another side who have dropped down a league.
