Sean Rigg keeps cool to net late penalty equaliser for Newport against Barnet
Sean Rigg's 88th-minute penalty snatched a dramatic 2-2 draw for League Two bottom side Newport against Barnet.
John Akinde looked to have grabbed victory for Barnet with two goals in nine minutes late on after Ben Tozer put Newport ahead in the first half.
But Jean Akpa Akpro, who set up Akinde's first, tripped Jennison Myrie-Williams in the penalty area and Rigg held his nerve to equalise late on from the spot.
Akinde scored in the original fixture on September 3 that was abandoned at half-time due to a waterlogged pitch.
Barnet started brightly until Gavin Hoyte, making only his second appearance since a 10-month lay-off with knee ligament damage, hobbled off after just 15 minutes.
That disrupted the visitors and Newport took advantage as they threatened from a series of corners and led to Tozer's first for the club on 33 minutes, the midfielder's glancing header beating Josh Vickers.
Graham Westley looked to be heading for a first win but Akinde levelled things up in the 76th minute, the striker heading in at the far post following an aerial bombardment into Newport's penalty area.
And Akinde thumped home a scorching second from 25 yards out for his 12th of the season five minutes from time to put Barnet in front.
However, there was a late twist in the tale as Rigg notched from the spot to salvage a point for Newport.
