O'Cearuill on standby for Rochdale game

Joe O'Cearuill, who signed a full professional contract with Barnet this week, is on standby to make his first start for the Bees. The Republic of Ireland international and former Arsenal player could come into the side in midfield as manager, Paul Fairclough feels that he could do a job there.

O'Cearuill came on as substitute in the 2-1 away defeat at Brentford last month and normally plays in the centre of the defence, but with the new central defensive partnership of Ismail Yakubu and Sagi Burton gelling well, a midfield spot, possibly alongside Neal Bishop in the centre, in place of Max Porter may be on the cards for the visit to Underhill of Rochdale. Fairclough has almost a full squad available with only long term absentee, Michael Leary missing and Giuliano Grazioli on loan at AFC Wimbledon.

Rochdale's new loan signing from Oldham, Kelvin Lomax, should make his first appearance for the club as the Dale have four defenders out, including first choice right back, Simon Ramsden. Former Bee, John Doolan is expected to make his first appearance at Underhill since leaving for Doncaster Rovers in 2003. Doolan made over 200 first team appearances for the Bees following a £60,000 move from Mansfield Town in 1998.
