'Ready for the drop' asks Barnet Times

The Barnet Times this week asks if Barnet are ready for the drop. With only one win in the last 21 games, they argue, the Bees look in real danger of being relegated to the Blue Square Premier at the end of the season. Even with three clubs having started the season with massive points deductions, the Times writes, the Bees have been named by the bookies as the most likely to join favourites, Luton Town, for the drop along with free falling Chester.
As the Barnet Times states, the main candidates for relegation would appear to be Luton, Bournemouth, Grimsby, Accrington, Chester and the Bees. From next week, Barnet Mad will be looking in depth at the relegation struggle following every result of the clubs in the bottom six. Barnet are quoted in the Barnet Times as 7/4 for the drop, only Luton and Chester have shorter odds. In the end, the Bees may only survive the drop thanks to the troubles of other clubs, if they survive at all.
After last Saturday's defeat at Notts County, manager, Ian Hendon admitted that, "We just didn't perform." He added, "I don't think we got enough from certain players, especially in the attacking half of the pitch."
Meanwhile, Barnet will be without new signing, Mark Hughes as the former Chester player is suspended for one match having been booked at Meadow Lane. He was already on four yellow cards with Chester. However, skipper, Kenny Gillet could return for the home match with Bradford City as his four match suspension has been completed. Hendon will have to choose between Gillet and loan signing, Matt Lockwood.
Winger, Yannick Bolasie has had his loan move from Plymouth Argyle extended for another month. Bolasie scored his first goal for the Bees in the recent home match with Grimsby Town.
