Ismail Yakubu has signed a contract which contracts him to Barnet for the new season. Yakubu made his first team debut for Barnet in March 2002 in the away match at Stevenage Borough, coming on as a substitute in the Nationwide Conference match that Stevenage won 3-2. He made his first start four days later at Boston United in a 1-1 draw. The following Monday, Yaks made his home debut at home to Nuneaton Borough.

Yakubu has made 247 starts for Barnet with another 18 as substitute and has scored 16 goals for Barnet, the club he has been with since the age of 11. He is the only current player who was part of the Conference winning side of 2005, where he played alongside current Barnet manager, Ian Hendon.

After a disappointing first half of the season in 2008/09, Yakubu's form returned under the management of Hendon and his form blossomed alongside the experienced Gary Breen in the centre of the Bees' defence. Yakubu follows Mark Hughes in signing up for Barnet since the end of last season.
