On Saturday, Barnet travel to Stockport County, who are placed 10th in the table, two points and four places below Barnet. On Tuesday night they lost, a little surprisingly, 2-0 at Morecambe. Last season, the Bees lost 2-0 at Edgeley Park, but won the return 3-1 at Underhill to end Stockport's nine match record of not conceding a goal. Oliver Allen, Dean Sinclair and Liam Hatch scored for the Bees (See feature on last season's game at Underhill, on 'we've met before' section).

Stockport are managed by former player, Jim Gannon, who took over in January 2006 when County seemed to be heading for the Conference but managed to keep them up, even though their safety, like Barnet's, was not assured until the last day of the season. Last season saw a huge improvement, but also disappointment as the club finished 8th just missing out on a play off place.

In goal is Conrad Logan who is on a season long loan from Leicester City. Logan made his league debut while on loan at Boston United two seasons ago and made 20 first team appearances in the Championship for Leicester last season.

At right back is another loanee, James Smith, who is a on a three month loan from Liverpool, for whom he made his debit as a substitute against Reading in the Carling Cup. Smith also played on loan at Ross County last season. On the left side of defence is versatile, Paul Tierney, on loan from Blackpool. Tierney began his career at Manchester United before moving to Scottish club, Livingston and then Blackpool.

In the centre of the defence are former Oldham defender, Gareth Owen, who signed for County in the summer after a successful loan spell and Ashley Williams, who joined the club from Hednesford Town, nearly 4 years ago. Williams has played over 150 first team games for County.

In midfield, Jason Taylor was signed last summer from Oldham Athletic after a successful loan spell and has now made over 50 first team starts for County; Dominic Blizzard started his career at Watford and had a loan spell at Stockport last season before moving to MK Dons, but returned to Edgeley Park in the summer this time on a permanent basis; Republic Of Ireland Under 21 International, Gary Dicker was signed for £40,000 from University College Dublin in the summer; David Poole signed in January for £10,000 from Yoevil Town following a successful loan spell; left sided player and Adam Griffin is another former Oldham player who joined County last summer again following a loan deal. County have just completed a one month loan deal with Bolton Wanderers for winger, Leslie Thompson, who goes straight into the squad for the game against Barnet.

Up front are former Macclesfield Town striker who moved to Stockport in the summer and has a lot of non league experience with Stalybridge, Runcorn and Hyde United; Liam Dickinson who signed from Unibond league side, Woodley Sports in 2005; former Sheffield Wednesday and Wolves striker, Adam Proudlock who moved to County last summer and former Stevenage Athletic striker, Anthony Elding, who bagan his career at Boston United before moving to Stevenage Borough, where he scored over 50 goals for the Conference club. Surprisingly moved to Conference North side, Kettering Town before a move back to his hometown club, Boston last summer. Moved to County in the January transfer window for a £55,000 fee and repaid Stockport with 11 goals in 20 matches, playing a big part in Stockport's revival last season. Has scored 5 goals in 7 matches this season, including a hat trick away at Brentford last saturday. Elding, called Eldinho at Stevenage, was rumoured to be a target for Barnet two seasons ago just prior to his move to Kettering.
