Kenny Arthur was signed from Partick Thistle in May 2007. Partick were his only other club and he made 289 appearances for the Glasgow club. He made 25 appearances for Stanley last season. First team appearances for Accrington: 40.

Colin Murdock joined Accrington in June 2008 after being released by Shrewsbury Town. He joined Shrewsbury from Rotherham United last summer and was formerly with Preston for whom he made over 200 appearances. He has also played for Hibernian and Crewe and started his career as a youngster at Manchester United. He is a Northern Ireland international, having played 31 times for his country.

Jimmy Ryan joined Accrington in August 2008 after impressing on trial with the club. Ryan was formerly with Liverpool and helped them to win the FA Youth Cup in his time there, but finished last season at Shrewsbury Town on loan, where he made 7 first team appearances.
