The Opposition: Bradford City

Goalkeepers:

Rhys Evans joined the Bantams from Millwall in 2008. He has also played for Swindon Town, Chelsea and Blackpool and has played on loan for Bristol Rovers, Leyton Orient and QPR. He made over 100 appearances for Swindon and played 21 times in League One last season at the New Den. League Appearances for Bradford City: 35.

Jon McLaughlan is a young player who has come through the youth system at Valley Parade, but has yet to make his first team debut.

Defenders:

Graeme Lee was signed in June 2008 after being released by Doncaster Rovers. He began his career at Hartlepool and played over 200 league games for them in nearly 8 years at the club. He moved to Sheffield Wednesday in 2003 and three years later moved to Doncaster. He was a squad player last season as Doncaster won promotion to the Championship, but also went out on loan to Hartlepool and Shrewsbury. League Appearances for Bradford City: 30, Goals: 2.

Simon Ainge is a product of the youth system at Valley Parade. He has yet to really break through into the first team and spent part of last season on loan at Halifax Town. League Appearances for Bradford City: 6(8).

Luke O'Brien is another young player who has come through the youth system at Valley Parade and he made his first team debut last season. League Appearances for Bradford City: 22(1), Goals:1.

Paul Arnison signed for City from Carlisle in June 2008. He began his career at Newcastle before joining Hartlepool following a short loan spell. He moved to Carlisle United in 2003 and was part of the side that was relegated to the Conference in 2004 and then, subsequently, won back to back promotions that took the club into League One. He was part of the squad that almost won promotion to the Championship last season. He made over 100 appearances for Carlisle, scoring 1 goal. League Appearances for Bradford City: 17(1).

Paul Heckingbottom is in his second spell at Valley Parade, having signed for the Bantams recently following a loan spell. He played for Manchester United, Sunderland, Hartlepool, Darlington and Norwich before moving to City in 2003 and being voted player of the year for 2003-04. He then moved to Sheffield Wednesday and then Barnsley before returning to Valley Parade last summer. League Appearances for Bradford City: 96.

Nicky Law is on loan from Sheffield United. He had a previous spell on loan at Valley Parade last season. He has also played on loan at Yeovil Town. League Appearances for Bradford City: 28, Goals: 5.

Zeshan Rehman is on loan from QPR. He began his career at Fulham before moving to Norwich and then Brighton. He joined QPR in 2006. League Appearances for Bradford City: 5.

Matthew Clarke joined City from Darlington in 2006. He made over 150 appearances for Darlington and has also played for Halifax Town. League Appearances for Bradford City: 49(5), Goals: 1.

Midfield:

Luke Sharry is a product of the youth system who has yet to make his first team debut but he has impressed during pre-season matches and will be looking to break into the first team this season.

Paul McLaren has joined City from Tranmere rovers in July 2008 after refusing a new contract with the Liverpool club. He was voted Tranmere player of the year last season. He made 92 first team appearances for Tranmere, scoring 5 goals following his move from Rotherham in 2006. He began his career at Luton Town, making over 200 appearances for the Hatters in 7 years and scored 6 goals before moving to Sheffield Wednesday in 2001. He made over 100 appearances for the Owls and scored 9 goals. League Appearances for Bradford City: 26, Goals: 3.

Omar Daley joined the club in January 2007 from American club, Charleston Battery. He has previous league experience with Reading and Preston. League Appearances for Bradford City: 76(7), Goals: 9.

Joe Colbeck is a product of the youth system who has made a real breakthrough this season at Valley Parade after having a short loan spell at Darlington. He has scored 5 goals in 23 starts this season for City. League Appearances for Bradford City: 58(36), Goals: 8.

Dean Furman is on loan from Glasgow Rangers. He made his first team debut for Rangers last season as a substitute. League Appearances for Bradford City: 14(6), Goals: 1.

Kyle Nix signed in the summer and has scored 5 goals in 26 starts for City. He previously played for Sheffield United. League Appearances for Bradford City: 36(17), Goals: 6.

Lee Bullock signed in 2007 from Hartlepool after a short loan spell. He started his career at York City where he made over 150 first team appearances. He subsequently played for Cardiff before moving to Hartlepool in 2005. He has played on loan this season for Hartlepool, Mansfield and Bury. League Appearances for Bradford City: 21(4), Goals: 3.

Strikers:

Steve Jones is on loan from Burnley. He began his career at Leigh RMI before moving to Crewe where he made over 150 league appearances. He joined Burnley in 2006. League Appearances for Bradford City: 13, Goals: 2.

Sean Taylforth is a young player who has come through the youth system at Valley Parade. League Appearances for Bradford City: 1(1).

Barry Conlon is a much travelled striker who joined in the summer of 2007 from Mansfield Town. He had spells at QPR, Manchester City, Southend and York City before moving to Darlington in 2001 where he made over 100 appearances in three seasons scoring 42 goals. He later played for Barnsley and then returned to Darlington before moving on to Mansfield in 2007. League Appearances for Bradford City: 33(34), Goals: 16.

Willy Topp was signed this season from Chilean football and has made 6 starts for the Bantams. League Appearances for Bradford City: 6(7).

Chris Brandon was signed from Huddersfield Town in May 2008. He made 148 appearances for the Terriers scoring 14 goals after joining them from Chesterfield in 2004. He had a loan spell at Blackpool last season. He has also played for Torquay United and Bradford PA. He was a trainee at the start of his career at Valley Parade.

Michael Boulding joined Bradford City in July 2008. He started his career at Mansfield in his first spell at Field Mill making his debut for the Stags in 1999. He then moved to Grimsby Town and subsequently played for Aston Villa before returning to Grimsby and then moving on to Barnsley. He also had loan spells at Sheffield United and Cardiff. He rejoined Mansfield in 2006 and spent much of last season coming on as a substitute, but was a revelation last season. Boulding scored 31 goals for the Stags. League Appearances for Bradford City: 25(5), Goals: 10.

Rory Boulding is the brother of Michael Boulding and played last season for Ilkeston Town and made his full debut for Mansfield last season. He joined City in July 2008.

Leon Osborne is a product of the youth system at Valley Parade. He made his full league debut this season. League Appearances for Bradford City: 1(1).

PLAYER TO WATCH

Peter Thorne made his debut back in 1994-95 with Swindon and scored 27 goals for the Robins before moving to Stoke in 1997. He made over 150 appearances for the Potteries club scoring 69 goals before moving on to Cardiff in 2001 where he went on to make over 100 appearances for the Bluebirds scoring over 50 goals before moving to Norwich in 2005 and joining Bradford in 2007. He has already scored 10 goals this season. League Appearances for Bradford City: 54(5), Goals: 25.
