Kevin Austin joined the Spireites in June 2008 from Swansea City after helping the Welsh club win the League One championship. He made over 100 league appearances for the Swans after joining them in 2004 from Bristol Rovers. He began his career at Saffron Walden before joining Leyton Orient. He made over 100 appearances for Orient before joining Lincoln City for £30,000 in 1996. He moved to Chesterfield for £100,000 in 1997 and made over 200 league appearances for the Spireites before joining Wigan in 2002. Darren Currie is well known to Bees' fans as he was a firm favourite in his time at Underhill. Currie began his career at before moving to Shrewsbury where he made 66 league appearances scoring 8 goals. He joined Barnet in 1998 and made over 100 appearances for the Bees scoring 21 goals before moving to Wycombe in 2001 for £200,000. He scored 20 goals on over 100 appearances for Wycombe before moving on to Brighton and then Ipswich before joining Luton in 2007. He made 38 appearances for Luton Town and scored 2 goals. Jack Lester began his career at Grimsby scoring 25 goals for the Mariners before moving to Nottm Forest in 2000.
