Goalkeepers

Andy Marriott is a very experienced keeper, who at 39 years of age has played for a lot of clubs!! He began his career at Arsenal before moving to Nottm Forest in 1989 for £50,000. He made just 11 appearances in over 4 years there and had loan spells at WBA, Blackburn, Colchester and Burnley before moving to Wrexham in 1993 for £200,000. He made over 250 appearances for the Welsh club before joining Sunderland in 1998 for £200,000. He made only 5 appearances in over 2 years at Sunderland and was sent on loan to Wigan and Barnsley, who then signed him in 2001. In 2003, he joined Birmingham on a free transfer and then had short spells at Coventry, Colchester and Bury before joining Torquay in 2005. He made over 50 appearances for the Gulls before moving To Boston United in 2006 and then joined Exeter last summer. He made 40 appearances for the Grecians last season. He signed a new one year contract for the club in May 2008. League Appearances for Exeter: 39.

Paul Jones joined Exeter on loan from Leyton Orient in November 2004 and then signed permanently the following summer. He has made nearly 100 appearances for Exeter and has been capped by the England National Game XI League Appearances for Exeter: 114(1).

Defenders:

Troy Archibald - Henville has joined Exeter on loan from Tottenham. League Appearances for Exeter: 3.

Fred Murray joined the club in the summer having been with Stevenage Borough last season. He previously played for Blackburn, Cambridge United, Northampton and Stafford Rangers. League Appearances for Exeter: 3(2).

Steve Tully is in his second spell at Exeter having played for them briefly in 2005. He began his career at Torquay United scoring 3 goals in 106 league games for the Gulls. He then moved to Weymouth and joined Exeter in 2007. He has made over 60 appearances for the Grecians. He has signed a new one year contract with the club. He was on trial at Underhill, briefly, in the summer of 2002. League Appearances for Exeter: 88(1).

Matthew Gill began his carer at Peterborough where he made over 150 appearances for the Posh and scored 10 goals before joining Notts County in 2004. He moved to Exeter in 2006. He has scored 5 goals for the Grecians already this season. League Appearances for Exeter: 132, Goals: 9.

Jack Obersteller joined Exeter in May 2008 from Grays Athletic. He has also played for Millwall and Wycombe Wanderers and had a loan spell at Crawley Town. He can play in defence and in midfield. League Appearances for Exeter: 3(4).

Daniel Seaborne is a product of the youth system at Exeter. He made his Conference debut against Dagenham & Redbridge in 2006. He has made 36 first team appearances for the Grecians. League Appearances for Exeter: 61(1), Goals: 5.

Ryan Harley is a young defender who made his debut last season, making 15 first team appearances, scoring 2 goals. League Appearances for Exeter: 32(5), Goals: 4.

Matthew Taylor is another player who joined from Team Bath last summer. League Appearances for Exeter: 59(2), Goals: 11.

Dean Moxey is a product of the youth system at Exeter who has attracted a lot of attention from football league scouts. He made his debut in the 2003-04 season and has been capped by the England National Game XI. He has made over 100 appearances for Exeter, scoring 18 goals. League Appearances for Exeter: 119(38), Goals: 19.

Rob Edwards began his career at Carlisle before joining Bristol City in 1991 for £135,000. He made over 250 first team appearances for City, scoring 8 goals in over 8 years at Ashton Gate. He moved to Preston in 1999 and had 4 years there playing nearly 200 times for the club, scoring 5 goals. He moved to Blackpool in 2004 and then joined Exeter two years later. He has made 100 appearances for the Grecians scoring 3 goals. League Appearances for Exeter: 121, Goals: 3.

Midfield:

Bertrand Cozic is another former Team Bath player who joined Exeter in July 2006. He has made 49 appearances for Exeter, scoring 1 goal. He has also had short spells at Cheltenham, Hereford, Northampton, Kidderminster and Aldershot. League Appearances for Exeter: 33(24), Goals: 1.

Liam Sercombe is a young player who made his debut at Altrincham last season. League Appearances for Exeter: 8(14), Goals: 1.

Chris Shepherd is a product of Exeter's youth system and he made his first team debut this season. League Appearances for Exeter: 0(2).

Neil Saunders is a player who was at Barnet for a short spell at the beginning of the 2003-4 season. He made one appearance as a substitute, coming on in Barnet's 3-2 away win at Burton Albion. He joined Exeter from Team Bath in 2007, but was unfortunate to miss the whole of last season due to a knee injury. He has also played for Watford and Tiverton. He has signed a new one year contract with the club. League Appearances for Exeter: 7.

Emmanuel Panther signed for Exeter in May 2008 from Blue Square Premier club, York City. He made 123 appearances for York, scoring 4 goals. He was previously with St. Johnstone and Partick Thistle. League Appearances for Exeter: 10(4), Goals: 2.

Strikers

Craig McAllister joined Exeter from Oxford United in the summer of 2008. He began his career at Basingstoke Town before joining Stevenage Borough in 2004. He then had short spells at Gravesend and Eastleigh before moving to Woking in 2005. He scored 34 goals in two seasons at Woking before joining Grays Athletic last season and he also had a loan spell at Rushden & Diamonds before moving to Oxford. League Appearances for Exeter: 2(12), Goals: 5.

Marcus Stewart began his career at Bristol Rovers and scored 79 goals in over 200 appearances in 5 seasons before joining Huddersfield in 1996 for £1,200,000. He was equally prolific at Huddersfield scoring 68 goals in 3 ½ years there and was snapped up by Ipswich in 2000 for £2,500,000. He scored 37 goals in 2 ½ years for the Tractor Boys before moving to Sunderland for £3,250,000 in 2002. He scored 39 goals in nearly 3 years at Sunderland before moving to Bristol City and had loan spells at Preston and Yeovil before moving to the Somerset club in January 2007.He scored 14 goals in nearly 2 years at Yeovil before joining Exeter in July 2008. Steve Basham was signed from Oxford United in July 2007. He made over 150 appearances for Oxford, scoring 49 goals. Last season, he made 33 appearances for Exeter, though nearly half were as substitute. He scored 6 goals. He has also played for Southampton, Wrexham and Preston. League Appearances for Exeter: 19(24), Goals: 7.

Richard Logan played for England as a schoolboy and at youth level. He began his career at Ipswich Town and while at Portman Road, he went on loan to Cambridge United, Torquay and Boston United, who he joined permanently in January 2003. He then moved to Peterborough United after a short loan spell at London Road. He scored 15 goals in two and a half years there before moving to Weymouth, following loan spells at Shrewsbury Town and Lincoln City. He joined Exeter in January 2007 and has made 56 league appearances scoring 22 goals. League Appearances for Exeter: 55(25), Goals: 25.

Adam Stansfield joined Exeter in June 2006 from Hereford United after having, somewhat surprisingly, been released after helping them to promotion from the Conference by way of the play offs. He scored 24 goals in 61 league appearances for the Bulls, who he joined in 2004 from Yeovil Town. He has scored 20 league goals in 78 appearances for Exeter. Ben Watson joined Exeter in May 2008 from Grays Athletic having originally arrived at St. James Park on loan in March. He was previously with Bognor Regis Town and moved to Grays in 2007. League Appearances for Exeter: 5(19), Goals: 4.
