Goalkeepers:

Gary Montgomery was signed from Rotherham United in the summer of 2007. He was previously with Coventry City and had a loan spell at Kidderminster. League Appearances for Grimsby: 4(1).

Philip Barnes is a former Blackpool keeper, who moved to Grimsby in 2006 from Sheffield United. League Appearances for Grimsby: 116.

Defenders:

Jamie Clarke was a summer 2007 signing from Boston United. He has also played for Mansfield and Rochdale. League Appearances for Grimsby: 49(2), Goals: 3.

Matthew Heywood joined the club from Brentford in June 2008. He made 34 appearances last season for Brentford, scoring 1 goal. He joined the Bees from Bristol City in 2006. He began his career at Burnley before moving to Swindon Town in 2001 and made over 200 appearances for the Robins, scoring 10 goals. League Appearances for Grimsby: 16(1).

Richard Hope joined the Mariners from Wrexham in June 2008. He began his career at Blackburn and has subsequently played for Darlington, Northampton, York, Chester and Shrewsbury, making over 350 league appearances in his career, scoring 14 goals. League Appearances for Grimsby: 6.

Tom Newey joined the Mariners from Cambridge United in 2005, having previously had a spell at Cambridge on loan when he was at Leyton Orient. Newey is a player who has attracted a lot of attention from other clubs. League Appearances for Grimsby: 140(4), Goals: 3.

Ryan Bennett is a product of the youth system who was promoted to the first team at the end of the 2006/07 season. He established himself last season in the first team squad. League Appearances for Grimsby: 58(14), Goals: 3.

James Hunt began his career at Notts County before moving to Northampton in 1997, where he played over 150 league matches for the Cobblers scoring 8 goals. He subsequently played for Bristol Rovers and Oxford United before moving to Grimsby in 2007 after a spell there on loan. League Appearances for Grimsby: 62(5), Goals: 2.

Robert Atkinson is on loan from Barnsley for a second time, having played for a spell at Blundell Park last season. He has also had loan spells at Halifax, Rochdale and Scarborough. League Appearances for Grimsby: 36(1), Goals: 2.

Joe Widdowson is on loan from West Ham. He had a loan spell with Rotherham last season. League Appearances for Grimsby: 5, Goals: 1.

Matthew Bird is a product of the youth system who has yet to make a first team start. League Appearances for Grimsby: 0(2)

Nick Hegarty is a product of the youth system who made his first team debut in 2005 and has now made 50 first team appearances, scoring 4 goals. He had a spell on loan at York City this season. League Appearances for Grimsby: 53(14), Goals: 6.

Robbie Stockdale was signed from Tranmere Rovers in June 2008 on a free transfer. He made over 80 appearances for Tranmere after joining them from Hull City in 2006. He began his career at Middlesbrough and made over 75 appearances for the Teesside club and later played for Rotherham as well as Sheffield Wednesday, West Ham and Darlington on loan. He has been capped for Scotland, having made 5 appearances at full international level. League Appearances for Grimsby: 10(1).

Midfield:

Stuart Elliott is on loan from Doncaster. He has previously played for Motherwell and Hull City for whom who he made nearly 200 league appearances in nearly 6 years. League Appearances for Grimsby: 5, Goals: 1.

Peter Bore is a product of the youth system at Grimsby Town. He has had a spell on loan at York City this season. League Appearances for Grimsby: 32(35), Goals: 11.

Chris Llewellyn joined the club from Wrexham in July 2008. He began his career at Norwich City and made over 150 appearances for the Canaries before joining Wrexham in 2003. He scored 20 goals in over 100 appearances for the Dragons before joining Hartlepool in 2005 but re-joined Wrexham in 2006. He scored 14 goals in his second spell at Wrexham before being released at the end of last season. League Appearances for Grimsby: 5(11).

Paul Bolland began his career at Bradford City, before moving to Notts County in 1999, following a short loan spell. He went on to make over 150 appearances for County before moving to Grimsby in 2005. League Appearances for Grimsby: 117(4), Goals: 13.

Peter Till joined Grimsby in January 2007 from Birmingham City, after previously having been on loan at Blundell Park. He also played for Scunthorpe, Boston and Leyton Orient on loan spells while at Birmingham. He is currently on loan at Chesterfield. League Appearances for Grimsby: 63(9), Goals: 4.

Peter Bore is a young winger who made his first team debut in season 2006/07 for the Mariners. He had a spell on loan at Blue Square Premier club, York City earlier in the season. League Appearances for Grimsby: 31(32), Goals: 11.

Danny Boshell signed from Stockport County in 2006. Before moving to Stockport, he was at Oldham and also had a short loan spell at Bury. League Appearances for Grimsby: 71(12), Goals: 9.

Dean Sinclair is a player who needs no introduction at Barnet. He joined the Bees in the summer of 2004 from Norwich City after a short trial period and played a large part in the Bees' promotion from the Conference in 2005. He made 120 league starts plus another 5 appearances as a substitute for Barnet, scoring 19 goals. He joined Charlton in the summer of 2007 but has yet to make a league start and has had two loan periods at Cheltenham Town and move to Grimsby on loan in January. Strikers:

JP Kalala is on loan from Oldham. He previously had a loan spell in 2005/06 with the Mariners. The Congolese midfield player has also played for French club, Nice and Yeovil Town. League Appearances for Grimsby: 27(7), Goals: 7.

Danny North is a product of the youth system, who has scored 16 goals in over 50 appearances for the Mariners. League Appearances for Grimsby: 35(27), Goals: 16.

Nathan Jarman signed from Barnsley in the summer of 2007. He has also played for Bury on loan and non-league club, Worksop Town. League Appearances for Grimsby: 23(6), Goals: 4.

Andy Taylor is a product of the youth system. Taylor has mainly been used as a substitute in the past but has started 3 times this season for the Mariners. League Appearances for Grimsby: 6(37), Goals: 7.

Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro joined the club in 2008 from French club, Toulouse. League Appearances for Grimsby: 7.

Adam Proudlock joined Grimsby recently on loan from Darlington. He signed for Darlington in July 2008 after being released by Stockport County. He helped Stockport win promotion to League One, via the play-offs last season. He scored 16 goals in 2 years at Stockport. He has also played for Wolves, Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich Town. League Appearances for Grimsby: 13, Goals: 4.

Adrian Forbes signed for Grimsby in February 2009. He began his career at Norwich City where he made 112 league appearances, scoring 8 goals before joining Luton in 2001 for £60,000. He made 72 league appearances for Luton, scoring 14 goals before moving to Swansea in 2004 making 69 league appearances and scoring 11goals for the Welsh club before joining Blackpool in 2006.
