Paul Walker is another player to come up through Northampton’s youth system. He is a Welsh under 17 international. He is yet to make his first team debut for the Cobblers.
Simon Brown joined Northampton from Brentford in September 2009. He started his career at Tottenham but failed to make the first team and was loaned out to Lincoln, Fulham, Kingstonian and Aylesbury before joining Colchester in 1999. He made over 150 appearances for Colchester before joining SPL club, Hibernian in 2004. He joined Brentford in 2007 and had a long loan at Darlington last season. Patrick Kanyuka joined Northampton in October 2009 after a successful trial period. He has previously played for QPR and Swindon Town, who released him at the end of last season. League Appearances for Northampton: 3.
Danny Swailes is on loan from MK Dons. He began his career at Bury and made over 150 league appearances for the Shakers and moved to Macclesfield in 2005 and he made over 100 appearances for the Silkmen. He moved to MK Dons in 2007. League Appearances for Northampton: 3.
Chris McCready joined Northampton from Crewe in the summer of 2009. He began his career at Crewe making over 100 appearances for the Railwaymen and had a season at Tranmere Rovers in the middle of two spells at Crewe. League Appearances for Northampton: 13(1).
Craig Hinton joined Northampton after being released by Bristol Rovers in 2009. He began his career at Birmingham City before joining Kidderminster in 1998 and made over 200 appearances for them. Paul Rodgers joined Northampton from Arsenal in the summer of 2009 after having had a period on loan at Sixfields last season. He played for Arsenal in their Carling Cup semi final against Burnley last season. League Appearances for Northampton: 20(5).
Dean Beckwith joined Northampton in June 2009 from Hereford. He made over 100 league appearances for the Bulls after joining them from Gillingham in 2005. League Appearances for Northampton: 14(1).

John Curtis joined Northampton in the summer of 2009 after being released by Wrexham. He began his career at Manchester United and made four league starts at Old Trafford and had a loan spell at Barnsley before joining Blackburn in 2000 for £1.5m. He made 61 league appearances for Blackburn and had a loan spell at Sheffield United. He then had short spells at Leicester and Portsmouth and a loan spell at Preston before joining Nottm Forest in 2005. He made 79 league appearances for Forest before joining QPR and then moved to Wrexham in January 2009. League Appearances for Northampton: 16(1).
Peter Gilbert joined Northampton on a free transfer from Oldham in November 2009. He started his career at Birmingham before joining Plymouth in 2003. He joined Leicester in 2005 for £200,000 but found it hard to break into the first team and was loaned out to Sheffield Wednesday joining them in 2006. He had a loan spell at Doncaster before moving to Oldham in the summer of 2009. League Appearances for Northampton: 6.
Midfield:
Luke Guttridge joined Northampton in the summer of 2008 from Colchester. He began his career at Torquay United before joining Cambridge United in 2000. He made over 150 first team appearances for Cambridge before moving to Southend in 2005. He joined Leyton Orient in 2007 following a short loan spell and moved to Colchester a year later. Joe Benjamin is a young player who has come up through the youth system at Northampton. He made his league debut for the Cobblers last season and has been on loan at Eastbourne Borough this season. League Appearances for Northampton: 1(5).
Andy Holt joined the club from Wrexham in 2006. He began his career at Oldham and made over 100 league appearances for the Latics. He joined Hull City in 2001 after an initial loan period for £150,000. After spells on loan at Barnsley and Shrewsbury he joined Wrexham in 2006 making 81 league appearances for the Dragons. Strikers
Adebayo Akinfenwa joined Northampton in January 2008 from Millwall. He began his career at Barry Town before moving to Boston in 2003 and then there followed short spells at Leyton Orient, Rushden and Doncaster before he joined Torquay in 2004. He scored 14 goals in one season for the Gulls before moving to Swansea, where he scored 14 goals in just over two years before moving to Millwall in November 2007. Steve Guinan joined Northampton from Hereford in May 2009. He was in his second spell at Hereford having re-joined them in 2007 from Cheltenham. He scored 56 league goals in 146 league appearances for the Bulls. He started his career at Nottm Forest but made just a few first team appearances for them but went on loan to Darlington, Burnley, Crewe, Halifax, Scunthorpe and Plymouth. He joined Cambridge United in 1999 but shortly after moved to Plymouth. In 2002, he joined Shrewsbury but a few months later joined Hereford. League Appearances for Northampton: 16(3), Goals: 4.
Gary Mulligan joined Northampton in 2009 from Gillingham. He began his career at Wolves and had a spell on loan at Rushden before joining Sheffield United in 2005. He was sent on loan to Port Vale and Gillingham before joining the Gills permanently in 2006. League Appearances for Northampton: 2(6).
