Defenders:

Gareth Owen has joined the club on loan from Stockport County until January 2009 with a view to a permanent transfer. He has also played for Stoke City and Oldham and has just completed a loan spell with Yeovil Town.

Lee Collins joined Vale on a six months loan from Wolves in August 2008. He was on loan at Hereford United last season making 20 appearances for the Bulls.

John McCombe signed for Vale in May 2008. He was previously with Hereford United and helped them gain promotion to League One in 2007/08. He made 32 appearances for the Bulls scoring 1 goal. He was previously with Huddersfield Town and had a short spell on loan at Torquay. League appearances for Port Vale: 10, Goals: 1.

Sam Stockley is a player that Barnet fans know well. He made nearly 200 first team appearances for Barnet between 1996 and 2001 after arriving from Southampton. He left following the club's relegation from the league and signed for Oxford United. Stockley subsequently made over 100 appearances for Colchester United before moving to Wycombe Wanderers in 2006. He made over 50 appearances for Wycombe, scoring 1 goal. He has also played for Colchester and Blackpool on loan. He signed for Vale in May 2008. League appearances for Port Vale: 9.

Luke Prosser is a former captain of the Port Vale youth team who made his debut for Port Vale in 2007/08. League appearances for Port Vale: 14(3).

Midfield:

Shane Tudor began his career at Wolves before moving to Cambridge United. He scored 23 goals in four seasons at Cambridge before moving to Leyton Orient in 2005 and helping them to promotion to League One. He moved to Port Vale in 2007. League appearances for Port Vale: 11(8).

Ross Davidson is another product of the youth system at Vale Park. He made his debut last season. League appearances for Port Vale: 10(8).

Simon Richman is a young player who made his first team debut last season. League appearances for Port Vale: 17(3), Goals: 2.

David Brammer is a former Crewe, Millwall, Stoke and Wrexham player. League appearances for Port Vale: 1.

Anthony Griffith has been signed from Doncaster, having spent the season on loan at Halifax Town making 37 league appearances. He began his career at Doncaster Rovers and has played for Darlington and Stafford Rangers on loan. League appearances for Port Vale: 16.

Rob Taylor has signed from Nuneaton Borough after a successful trial in the reserves at Vale. He has also played for Redditch, Solihull Moors and Evesham United. League appearances for Port Vale: 1(4).

Louis Dodds signed for Port Vale from Leicester City in July 2008. He had spells on loan at Northwich and Rochdale and spent most of last season on loan at Lincoln City. He made 44 appearnces for the Imps, scoring 9 goals. League appearances for Port Vale: 15(1), Goals:3.

Strikers:

Luke Rodgers started his career at Shrewsbury where he helped them win promotion from the Nationwide Conference in 2004. He made over 150 appearances for the Shrews scoring 68 goals before joining Crewe in 2005 and then on to Port Vale in January 2007. He is currently on loan at Yeovil Town until January 2005. League appearances for Port Vale: 45(14), Goals: 16.

Danny Glover is a product of the youth system. League appearances for Port Vale: 9(11), Goals: 1.

Kyle Perry joined Vale from non-league Chasetown last season and has also played for AFC Telford. League appearances for Port Vale: 11(12).
