Goalkeepers:

Matthew Edwards signed from Leeds United in June 2009.

Kenny Arthur joined Rochdale from Accrington Stanley in June 2009. He joined Accrington from Partick Thistle in May 2007. Partick were his only other club and he made 289 appearances for the Glasgow club. Rochdale League Appearances: 11.

Defenders:

Rory McArdle is a former Sheffield Wednesday youth player and was at Spotland on lengthy loan periods before signing permanently for the Dale in the summer of 2007. Rochdale League Appearances: 129(4) Goals: 6.

Thomas Kennedy was signed in the summer of 2007 from Bury and made over 150 first team appearances for them. Rochdale League Appearances: 104 Goals: 8.

Nathan Stanton made over 250 appearances for Scunthorpe before moving to Rochdale in 2006. Rochdale League Appearances: 112.

Scott Wiseman joined the club from Darlington in the summer of 2008. He made 20 appearances for Darlington and has also played for Hull City. He was initially released last season, but was then re-signed in June 2009. Rochdale League Appearances: 36(4).

Marcus Holness was signed in 2007/08 from Oldham. He had a loan spell last season at Barrow. Rochdale League Appearances: 20(12).

Matthew Flynn joined Rochdale from Macclesfield this summer, initially on loan. The young defender broke into the Macclesfield side last season making over 20 league appearances. Rochdale League Appearances: 5.

Midfield:

Jason Kennedy joined Rochdale in the summer of 2009 from Darlington. He started his career at Middlesbrough and had loan spells at Boston United, Bury and Livingston before moving to Darlington. Rochdale League Appearances: 11.

Dale Stephens is on loan from League One, Oldham Athletic. He began his career at Bury and has also played for Hyde and Droylesden. Rochdale League Appearances: 0(1).

Simon Whaley is on loan from Norwich City. He has also played for Bury, Preston and Barnsley. Rochdale League Appearances: 3(1), Goals: 1.

Adam Rundle is a left sided midfield player who was released by Mansfield Town in the summer of 2006 and moved to Spotland. He was formerly with Carlisle United and Darlington. Rochdale League Appearances: 97(28) Goals: 17.

Gary Jones is in his second spell at Spotland, having had two seasons at Barnsley in between. He is only the 5th player in the club's history to make over 300 first team appearances and in 2008 became the first player to lead Rochdale out at Wembley in the final of the League Two play offs. Rochdale League Appearances: 340(18) Goals: 48.

Joe Thompson has come up through the youth system at Rochdale. Rochdale League Appearances: 40(29) Goals: 9.

David Flitcroft began his career at Preston and had a loan spell at Lincoln City before moving to Chester in 1994. He made over 150 appearances for Chester, scoring 22 goals. He joined Rochdale in 1999 and made over 150 appearances in his first spell at the club scoring 4 goals before briefly moving on to Macclesfield and then Bury where he made over 100 appearances scoring 4 goals. He re-joined Rochdale in 2007. Rochdale League Appearances: 143(19) Goals: 4.

Ciaran Toner joined Rochdale in July 2008. Toner began his career at Tottenham and had loan spells at Bristol Rovers and Peterborough while at White Hart Lane. He joined Leyton Orient in 2002 and moved on to Lincoln City, having a short loan spell at Cambridge United. He joined Grimsby in 2005 and has scored 15 goals in over 100 appearances. Will Buckley is a product of the youth system at Rochdale. Rochdale League Appearances: 40(18), Goals: 14.

Strikers:

Chris Dagnall is a former Tranmere striker and has been a regular scorer for Rochdale since. Rochdale League Appearances: 94(33) Goals: 43

Scott Spencer joined the club in the summer of 2009 from Everton. He was initially with Oldham and Everton paid £500,000 for him in 2006, but he failed to make the first team at Goodison Park. He had a short spell on loan at Macclesfield. Rochdale League Appearances: 0(3).

Kallum Higginbottom has come up through the youth system and made his debut in 2007 for the first team. He had a spell on loan at Accrington last season. Rochdale League Appearances: 28(15) Goals: 5.

Jon Shaw signed from Halifax Town in July 2008. He began his career at Sheffield Wednesday before joining Burton Albion in 2004. He scored 26 goals for the Brewers before moving to Halifax in 2007 and scored 20 goals in 2007/08. He is currently on loan at Crawley Town. Rochdale League Appearances: 5(3), Goals: 1.

Chris O'Grady is on loan from Oldham Athletic. O'Grady started his career at Leicester City and had loan spells at Notts County and Rushden & Diamonds before joining Rotherham. He impressed at Millmoor and was signed by Oldham in 2008. He had loan spells last season at Bury, Bradford City and Stockport County. Rochdale League Appearances: 8, Goals: 2.
