Goalkeepers

Scott Bevan joined Torquay in the summer of 2009 after being released by Shrewsbury. He began his career at Southampton but failed to make the first team and was sent on loan to Ayr, Stoke, Woking, Huddersfield and Wycombe. He joined MK Dons in 2004 and made 17 league appearances for them and had a loan spell at Tamworth before moving to Kidderminster in 2006. He made 57 appearances at Kidderminster before joining Shrewsbury in 2008. League Appearances for Torquay: 2.

Martin Rice joined Torquay from Exeter in 2007. He made his first team debut for the Grecians at the age of 17. League Appearances for Torquay: 9.

Defenders:

Michael Brough joined Torquay from Forest Green Rovers in 2008. He has also played for Stevenage, Notts County and Stafford and had a spell last season at Salisbury Town. League Appearances for Torquay: 2(2).

Kevin Nicholson joined Torquay from Forest Green Rovers in 2007. He was previously with Scarborough, Notts County, Sheffield Wednesday and Northampton. League Appearances for Torquay: 92(2), Goals: 5.

Chris Robertson joined the Gulls in the summer of 2007 from Sheffield United after an initial loan period. League Appearances for Torquay: 66(3), Goals: 3.

Chris Todd joined the Gulls from Exeter in 2007. He made over 150 league appearances for the Grecians after joining them from Swansea in 2002. He had a loan spell at Salisbury last season. League Appearances for Torquay: 66, Goals: 6.

Kieran Charnock joined Torquay from Peterborough in August 2009 for an undisclosed fee. He began his career at Wigan before joining Southport in 2003 for a short period and then moving to Northwich. He made over 100 league appearances for the Vics in four years before moving to Peterborough and was on loan at Accrington last season. League Appearances for Torquay: 2.

Midfield

Lee Mansell joined Torquay from Oxford United in 2006. He joined the Gulls following Oxford's relegation to the Conference and was unlucky to see Torquay relegated the following year. He started his career at Luton Town and joined Oxford in 2005. League Appearances for Torquay: 124(4), Goals: 6.

Nicky Wroe joined the Gulls from York City in the summer of 2008. He joined York from Barnsley in 2007, having started his career at Oakwell. League Appearances for Torquay: 46, Goals: 7.

Tyrone Thompson joined Torquay from Crawley Town in the summer of 2008. He began his career at Sheffield United and had a spell at Huddersfield before moving to Scarborough in 2004. He moved to Halifax a year later and joined Crawley in 2007. League Appearances for Torquay: 18(7), Goals: 1.

Chris Hargreaves joined the club from Oxford United in 2007. He began his career at Grimsby town as a youngster and then moved to Hull City in 1993. He had spells at Hereford and Plymouth before joining Northampton in 2000 and made over 150 appearances for the Cobblers in 4 years at the club before joining Brentford. Wayne Carlisle joined Torquay from Exeter in 2008. He began his career at Crystal Palace before moving to Bristol Rovers in 2002. He scored 14 goals in two years at Swindon before moving to Leyton Orient in 2004 and then joining Exeter two years later. League Appearances for Torquay: 40(3), Goals: 8.

Lee Hodges is a player who is no stranger to Underhill having joined Barnet in 1994 from Tottenham. Lee made over 100 league appearances for the Bees, scoring 26 goals in 3 years before moving to Reading for £250,000 in 1997. He joined Plymouth in 2001 and made over 200 appearances in 7 years at Argyle before joining Torquay in 2008. League Appearances for Torquay: 31(8).

Mustapha Carayol joined the Gulls from Crawley in 2008. He has also played for MK Dons. League Appearances for Torquay: 14(18).

Danny Stevens joined Torquay from Luton Town in the summer of 2007. He was at Tottenham as a youngster before being released when he was 19. League Appearances for Torquay: 39(25), Goals: 7.

Steve Adams began his career at Plymouth making over 150 league appearances before joining Sheffield Wednesday in 2005. He moved to Swindon 2 years later before joining Torquay in 2008. He is on loan at Forest Green Rovers. League Appearances for Torquay: 14(3).

Mark Ellis joined Torquay from Bolton in 2007. He is on loan at Forest Green Rovers. League Appearances for Torquay: 30(1), Goals: 4.

Strikers

Scott Rendell joined Torquay in the summer of 2009 on loan from Peterborough. He began his career at Aldershot before moving to Forest Green Rovers. He joined Crawley Town in 2006 and scored 11 goals for them before moving to Cambridge United in 2007. He was a big success there scoring 17 goals in 29 Conference appearances and was snapped up by Peterborough. However, he found it hard to break into the Posh first team and was sent out on loan to Yeovil and then back to Cambridge where he spent half of last season scoring 13 goals in 26 Conference matches.
