Goalkeepers

Scott Bevan joined Southampton as a youngster but failed to make the first team there. He had loan spells at Ayr, Woking, Stoke, Huddersfield and Wycombe before joining MK Dons in 2004. He subsequently played for Shrewsbury and Kidderminster before joining Torquay in 2008. He helped the Gulls win promotion back to the Football League last season. League Appearances for Torquay: 40.

Michael Poke is in his third loan spell with Torquay United from Southampton. He has also played on loan at Woking. League Appearances for Torquay: 38(1).

Defenders:

Adam Smith is on loan from Tottenham. He has also had a loan spell at Wycombe this season. League Appearances for Torquay: 9.

Keiran Charnock joined the Gulls from Peterborough in July 2009. He had a loan spell last season at Accrington. He joined Peterborough from Northwich in 2007 and has also played for Wigan and Southport. League Appearances for Torquay: 15.

Kevin Nicholson joined Torquay from Forest Green Rovers in 2007. He was previously with Scarborough, Notts County, Sheffield Wednesday and Northampton. League Appearances for Torquay: 104(5), Goals: 5.

Chris Robertson joined the Gulls in the summer of 2007 from Sheffield United after an initial loan period. League Appearances for Torquay: 88(3), Goals: 5.

Chris Todd joined the Gulls from Exeter in 2007. He made over 150 league appearances for the Grecians after joining them from Swansea in 2002. He had a loan spell at Salisbury last season. He is currently on loan at Salisbury. League Appearances for Torquay: 72, Goals: 7.

Midfield

Jake Thomson is on loan from Southampton. He had a loan spell last season at Bournemouth. League Appearances for Torquay: 7(1), Goals: 1.

Lee Mansell joined Torquay from Oxford United in 2006. He joined the Gulls following Oxford’s relegation to the Conference and was unlucky to see Torquay relegated the following year. He started his career at Luton Town and joined Oxford in 2005. League Appearances for Torquay: 140(5), Goals: 6.

Nicky Wroe joined the Gulls from York City in the summer of 2008. He joined York from Barnsley in 2007, having started his career at Oakwell. League Appearances for Torquay: 67, Goals: 12.

Tyrone Thompson joined Torquay from Crawley Town in the summer of 2008. He began his career at Sheffield United and had a spell at Huddersfield before moving to Scarborough in 2004. He moved to Halifax a year later and joined Crawley in 2007.  League Appearances for Torquay: 26(11), Goals: 1.

Chris Hargreaves joined the club from Oxford United in 2007. He began his career at Grimsby town as a youngster and then moved to Hull City in 1993. He had spells at Hereford and Plymouth before joining Northampton in 2000 and made over 150 appearances for the Cobblers in 4 years at the club before joining Brentford. He joined Oxford a year later. League Appearances for Torquay: 108(2), Goals: 11.

 

Wayne Carlisle joined Torquay from Exeter in 2008. He began his career at Crystal Palace before moving to Bristol Rovers in 2002. He scored 14 goals in two years at Swindon before moving to Leyton Orient in 2004 and then joining Exeter two years later. League Appearances for Torquay: 56(6), Goals: 10.

Lee Hodges is a player who is no stranger to Underhill having joined Barnet in 1994 from Tottenham. Lee made over 100 league appearances for the Bees, scoring 26 goals in 3 years before moving to Reading for £250,000 in 1997. He joined Plymouth in 2001 and made over 200 appearances in 7 years at Argyle before joining Torquay in 2008. League Appearances for Torquay: 33(9).

Mustapha Carayol joined the Gulls from Crawley in 2008. He has also played for MK Dons. He has had a spell on loan this season at Kettering Town. League Appearances for Torquay: 15(20), Goals: 1.

Danny Stevens joined Torquay from Luton Town in the summer of 2007. He was at Tottenham as a youngster before being released when he was 19. League Appearances for Torquay: 49(29), Goals: 7.

Mark Ellis joined Torquay from Bolton in 2007. He has had a loan spell this season at Forest green Rovers. League Appearances for Torquay: 39(3), Goals: 5.

Strikers

Elliott Benyon joined Torquay from Crawley in 2007 and has also played for St Albans. League Appearances for Torquay: 39(43), Goals: 19.

Ben Joyce joined Torquay from Swindon Town in July 2009. He scored 1 goal in 4 first team appearances for Swindon. He has also played for Boston United. He has had a loan spell at Forest Green rovers this season and is currently on loan at Weston Super Mare.

Chris Zebrowski joined Torquay after having played on loan with them last season from Wycombe and then returning on loan this season. He played over 50 times for the Chairboys and has also played for Plymouth and Millwall. He was a regular at Plainmoor last season on a season long loan and helped Torquay win promotion from the Blue Square Premier. League Appearances for Torquay: 54(3), Goals: 23.

Scott Rendell is on loan from Peterborough. He began his career at Aldershot before moving to Forest Green and then Crawley Town. He moved to Cambridge United in 2007 and scored 17 goals from 23 starts. This impressive form prompted Peterborough to sign him in 2008 after a short loan spell but he has found opportunities at London road hard to come by. Ben Joyce joined Torquay from Swindon Town in July 2009. He scored 1 goal in 4 first team appearances for Swindon. He has also played for Boston United. He has had a loan spell at Forest Green rovers this season and is currently on loan at Weston Super Mare.
