For the second successive game, Barnet were held to a draw at home as the Bees and Bury played out a goalless draw at Underhill yesterday afternoon. Ian Hendon was able to include Gary Breen who returned at centre back alongside Clovis Kamdjo. David Livermore returned to midfield at the expense of Mark Hughes.
Barnet got off to a good start and nearly scored in the first few minutes following a goalmouth scramble when the ball was cleared twice off the visitors’ goal line. Shortly afterwards, Albert Adomah hit a fine shot that brought an excellent save from Wayne Brown in the Bury goal.
After this though, the Shakers began to take control and Joe Devera had to clear away desperately on two occasions when it looked as though Bury would score and later, Albert Adomah was called on to do the same. Bury also hit the post and shortly before half time, Andy Morrell had an excellent chance for Bury but hit his shot high and wide.

After an entertaining first half, the second half petered out somewhat with Bury still looking the side most likely to score, Jake Cole was called on to make a couple of superb saves to keep the Bees in the game and the home side could have even nicked a win in time added on when Albert Jarrett got round the back of the defence, but with players in the box waiting for the cross he hit it far too hard and the chance was gone.
Barnet’s manager, Ian Hendon will have been pleased to have taken a point against a side in the top three and will have been pleased by a performance where the team gave a reasonable showing, trying always to play football, even though Bury had the best chances. With Grimsby and Darlington both losing, the Bees look reasonably safe from relegation after an improved run which has brought 8 points from 6 matches.
