Bury took home a share of the spoils from Underhill after a game that hosts Barnet looked certain to pick up three points in.
Barnet had looked the better team in a first half which they dominated, with the aerial threat of forward Liam Hatch causing all sorts of problems for the Bury back line.
The visitors created few opportunities in the opening 45 minutes, but the introduction of Jake Speight for the Shakers ten minutes into the second half swung the match in their favour.
In Bury's first meaningful attack on 67 minutes, Speight forced a save from Barnet keeper Ross Flitney after being played in by Simon Whaley.
Speight then took a run at the cowering Barnet defence 15 minutes later and laid the ball off to fellow striker Danny Reet, who crashed an unstoppable shot past Flitney.
Barnet continued to battle, however, with long balls constantly being pumped into the box looking for the head of the towering Hatch.
But it was Barnet's other big striker Ben Strevens who finally salvaged a point after heading home a Dean Sinclair corner with six minutes remaining.
It could have been a different story if Hatch had done better with his early chances.
He found himself unmarked at the back post on a number of occasions but his weak headers failed to trouble Bury keeper Neil Edwards.
Hatch's best chance came on 26 minutes when his acrobatic volley from an Anthony Charles was tipped over by Edwards.
He may also have been awarded a penalty at the beginning of the second half when he appeared to have been brought down by the goalkeeper, but the referee waved away Barnet's appeal.
Barnet's leading scorer Giuliano Grazioli was not at his lethal best on this occasion.
Just over ten minutes into the second half he was denied by a fantastic Edwards save after being put clean through by Nicky Bailey.
Despite a testing 90 minutes, credit must go to Bury centre-backs Dave Challinor and Colin Woodthorpe who held firm to keep Barnet at bay.
