Barnet went out of the FA Trophy at the 2nd round stage losing 2-1 at home to Grimsby Town, the same score as when the Bees lost in the Conference earlier this year at Blundell Park.
Barnet fell behind after just six minutes when Andy Cook headed past Stack to put the visitors 1-0 up, a lead they held until 20 minutes from time when Keanu MARSH-BROWN equalised for the Bees broke down the left and shot past McKeown, the Grimsby keeper, to put the Bees level.
However, on 85 minutes, Dayle Southwell put Grimsby back in front. Barnet came close to taking the game to extra time when McKeown pushed a Jake Hyde header into the path of Jon Nurse who missed from two yards. In the third minute of time added on, the Bees came even closer when Hyde was unlucky to see a shot bounce out off the inside of the post. But, in the end, Barnet’s first attempt at the FA Trophy since 2005 was over.
