Barnet lost their fourth league game in six matches as bogey club, Grimsby Town completed a league double over the Bees to cut their lead over second placed, Bristol Rovers, who won 1-0 at home to Altrincham, to just one point with Macclesfield just a further three points behind but with a game in hand. Grimsby are nine points behind Barnet, in 4th place, but with a game in hand.
With John Akinde missing the game through suspension, Martin allen gave a first start to Michael Gash but it was the Mariners who took the lead on 27 minutes through Jolley, who scored from close range following fine work by Mackreth. That was the only goal of the first half but Barnet equalised on 56 minutes when Conor CLIFFORD scored with a stunning shot into the top right hand corner of the net from fully 25 yards. It was his first goal for the Bees.
The match looked like it was heading for a draw as it entered the final minute, but two goals for Grimsby from Craig Disley and John Paul Pittman won the match for the Mariners.
