Barnet 1 Luton Town 2

After a run of three consecutive league games, Barnet crashed to a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of LutonTown on Boxing Day. After a bright start, a poor pass by Elliott Johnson lead to Paul Benson playing in Andre Gray on 22 minutes and just past the half hour, Alex Lawless scored with a fine curling shot after another mistake by Johnson, who was unfortunate as he otherwise had a fine game.

Barnet then went down to 10 men shortly before half time when Jon Nurse was sent off for a very poor challenge on Jonathon smith who was, sadly, carried off on a stretcher with a suspected broken leg.

Barnet pushed forward well in the second half despite being a player short and Jake Hyde missed an open goal early on, a miss that, perhaps, cost the Bees a real chance of turning the game round. The substation of Luisma for Lopez gave the team more bite in the second half.

With just over 20 minutes to go, Jake HYDE scored with a cute header from a fine Andy Yiadom cross to give the Bees a chance but despite some pressure from the home side, Luton held on to win.
