Barnet won their second successive league game after the bad weather had seen games at Forest Green Rovers and MacclesfieldTown called off in recent weeks.
Barnet’s new loan signing from Brentford, Charlie Adams, was named on the bench, but their other recent arrival, centre back, Valentin Gjokaj missed out.
The Bees looked set to fall behind on 16 minutes to struggling Tamworth after Andy Yiadom was, rather unluckily, punished for a challenge in the penalty area on former Burton Albion striker, Justin Richards. Richards took the resulting penalty but Barnet’s stand in keeper, Nick Jupp dived well to save the striker’s rather poor shot and keep the score at 0-0.
HT: Bees 0 Lambs 0
Barnet’s performance improved in the second half and they finally went ahead six minutes before time following a fine run and cross by Keanu Marsh-Brown which found Luisma Villa whose initial shot was saved but he found the net from the rebound to give the Bees all three points. Barnet, subsequently, had the ball in the net twice more after this but both goals were disallowed but the Bees took all three points and moved to within two points of the play-off places. Barnet are now 9th while Tamworth remain in the relegation zone.
