Barnet secured their first home win since Boxing Day against a makeshift Scarborough side.
Scarborough boss Russell Slade had very limited resources for this match having to name only three substitutes from his 14-man squad.
Barnet made all the early running and when Wayne Purser's free kick was deflected by Paul Dempsey, keeper Leigh Walker did well to scramble the ball past the post for a corner.
It was again Purser's inswinging corner that led to Greg Heald's header being blocked by Walker.
At the other end Paul Shepherd's free kick found David Pounder on the left wing and Danny Hall, signed from Oldham, headed the ball just wide of goal.
In the 20th minute Barnet keeper Danny Naisbitt managed to kick the ball just outside the penalty area. He chased after the ball but was unable to clear it which gave Anthony Ormerod a great chance to open the scoring but he mis-hit his shot wide of the empty goal.
In the 23rd minute Barnet deservedly opened the scoring when Wayne Purser's corner was met by Jason Soloman with a right-footed volley from 15 yards that gave keeper Walker no chance.
Barnet continued to press forward and it was no surprise when they doubled their lead in the 56th minute.
Man of the match John Doolan received the ball some 40 yards from goal and with no Scarborough player closing him down he decided to try a speculative left-footed shot that roared into the corner of the goal.
Scarborough were very disjointed at this stage and Barnet increased their lead in the 69th minute when Toby Oshitola headed home from five yards after a flicked header by Soloman.
