Bees manager Peter Shreeves said before the match: "We brought this game forward to try and make up gound on the leaders".

And Barnet certainly managed that today, infact the only likelihood of Barnet losing the match was when fog descended over the pitch after 60 minutes and the spectators were wondering if the referee would consider abandoning the game.

The home team saw Mark Arber return from injury and welcomed new-boy Michael Price, who is on-loan from Hull City, to strengthen the Barnet back four.

The visitors had come into this match having won three and drawn one of their last four matches and top scorer Dino Maamria led the attack.

In the second minute a long throw on Barnet's left wing was picked up by the unmarkerd Arber whose right-foot shot was blocked by keeper Stuart Coburn and cleared for a corner.

After Ten minutes Junior Agogo received a long pass from Price and his left-foot cross come shot soared just inches over the bar. This was a sign of things to come for the Bees as Agogo was playing well up front, he shortly had another 30-yard shot that also went over the bar.

Little had been seen of the visitors strikeforce, their build ups were slow and the Barnet back four were in control. After 19 minutes Ben Strevens charged into the box and fell over keeper Coburn. The Bees players appealed for a penalty and the opponents said he dived. The referee waved play on, Frazer Toms received the ball and crossed from the left for Mark Gower to strike home from ten yards.

It was no surprise when Barnet doubled thier lead after 42 minutes. John Doolan won the ball in midfield, found Gower on the rigt wing who hit a superb pass from inside his own half for Agogo to score.

One minute after the break Barnet were three up when Ben Strevens' right foot shot was deflected causing the keeper to fumble the ball as it entered the net. The fog then appeared and Leigh RMI decided to attack the Bees. They had only mustered one shot on target and this from Ged Kielty whose right-foot shot was easily saved by Daniel Naisbitt.

The man-of-the-match was Agogo who scored his second goal and Barnet's fourth when he received the ball in his own half, sprinted towards the penalty area and hit a glorious right-foot shot giving Coburn no chance
