Barnet travelled to Crewet his afternoon looking for their first league win since the opening day of the season. Manager, Lawrie Sanchez made just one change from the starting line up against Accrington last Saturday with Izale McLeod returning from suspension and Sam Deering dropping to the bench.Ricky Holmes kept his place in the side. Daniel Leach was named as a substitute.
After a quiet start with few chances, the Bees fell behind on 27 minutes when Luke Murphy scored with a shot from outside the penalty area.
After the goal, Barnet had more efforts on goal with Darren Dennehy, Jordan Parkes and Izale McLeod all going close. Just before half time, McLeod had a shot saved by Crewe keeper, Steve Phillips.

Shaun Miller put the home side ahead 10 minutes into the 2nd half, but the Bees still had chances to score and reduced the arrears on 81 minutes when Izale MCLEOD bundled home Mark Byrne’s cross. The Bees pushed on for an equaliser but it was Crewe who scored the next goal, Adam Dugdale sealing all three points for the Railwaymen in injury time.
It was another poor result for Barnet who have taken just 3 points in 6 matches after winning at Morecambe on the opening day of the season. The Bees have now fallen to 22nd in the table, just one place above the relegation zone. Next up, Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday at Underhill.
