Farnborough put paid to Barnet's hopes of a win at Cherrywood Road by holding the visitors to a 2-2 draw.

The scoreline however, does little to reflect Farnborough's chances and skill on the day.

The first half started slowly although Farnborough were looking the stronger as they continued to pressure the Bees defence with constant attacks.

An early chance fell to Rocky Baptiste, which should have been the first goal of the match, but his shot sailed over the crossbar.

Barnet's Wayne Purser had a shot on 27 minutes that forced a superb save from the in-form Tony Pennock.

The second half saw both sides up the tempo and it wasn't long before it became glaringly obvious that this had been missing in the first half as three goals in 11 minutes rolled in.

The first saw Geoff Pitcher add his name to the score sheet for the first time since joining the Cherrywood Road side just three weeks ago just three minutes after the re-start.

Three minutes later, and a Barnet corner saw former Spurs player Mark Gower set up Ismail Yakabu who scored the equaliser.

However, it was heads up for the Boro lads, as after 59 minutes Baptiste found the back of the net from Pitcher's delightful chip to make it 2-1.

Boro continued to create chances but failed to convert. Their relentless pressure made it seem inevitable that they were going to deservedly take all three points.

Ken Charlery's header in the 82nd minute was unlucky not to go in and would have given Boro some much needed security.

Then in the 85th minute, Junior Agogo's run for goal looked dangerous until Darren Annon's clearance.

However the resulting corner saw substitute Ben Wiper find the equaliser that had never really looked like materialising.

Boro were unlucky to take only a point here today as Barnet had not really done enough to deserve the draw.
