Barnet went five points clear at the top of the Conference league table with an impressive 2-0 win away at third placed, Gateshead. The Bees were two up in the first seven minutes. Curtis WESTON put them ahead after just four minutes when John Akinde put the Barnet skipper through and he dinked the ball over the goalkeeper and into the net. Three minutes later, Weston was involves again picking up a loose ball from Clark and lobbing over Adam Bartlett for LUISMA VILLA to head home Barnet's 2nd. With other results going Barnet's way, the Bees are now five points clear of Halifax.

Last Saturday, Barnet were 3-0 up at half time at home to Kidderminster with goals from LUISMA VILLA (32 mins), COOK (38 mins) and AKINDE (43 mins) but lost two points as Kidderminster made an amazing comeback with two goals from Nathan Blissett and one from Michael Gash.

The previous Tuesday, Barnet lost their unbeaten away league record, losing narrowly by 2-1 at Macclesfield Town. The Silkmen went 2-0 up after half time with goals from Barrow and Holroyd and though John AKINDE pulled a goal back for the Bees on 78 minutes, the home side held on to win.
