Barnet manager, Paul Fairclough made just one change to the side that drew with Shrewsbury, bringing in new signing from Port Vale, Tommy Fraser and putting him in a five man midfield with Mauro Vilhete dropping to the bench leaving Izale McLeod as the only man up front. Surprisingly, neither Charlie Taylor, last Saturday’s goalscorer, nor Glenn Poole were amongst the subs and John Dunleavy is still to make his debut for the Bees following his arrival on loan from Wolves.
In a first half in which the home side had the better of things, there were few attempts on target by the Silmen and the Bees failed to register none at all so it was little surprise that the first half remained goalless.
