Barnet manager, Ian Hendon made three changes to the defence that started against Lincoln City; Joe Devera moved to right back to replace Ryan O’Neill, Gary Breen returned from injury, replacing Devera, while Daniel Leach came in for the injured Ismail Yakubu to play alongside Breen in the centre of the defence. Matty Lockwood replaced Kenny Gillet at left back after re-joining Barnet on loan from Colchester.
In midfield, Albert Adomah was left out and replaced by new boy, Lee Sawyers who made his first start for the Bees and Jake Hyde started up front with Paul Furlong, John O’Flynn dropping to the bench.
Barnet started woefully with the home side in command and Morecambe went ahead after just four minutes, Stewart Drummond heading home from close range. The home side continued to dominate and Ian Hendon made a change on the half hour bringing on Albert Adomah for Micah Hyde.
Three minutes later and the Bees were level. Mark Hughes was fouled in the penalty area by Danny Adams and Matt Lockwood stepped up to score his first ever Bees’ goal from the penalty spot.
HT: Shrimps 1 Bees 1
Morecambe continued to dominate though barnet were managing to have more shots on goal than they have of late. John O’Flynn replaced Jake Hyde on 65 minutes, but on 77 minutes mark Duffy put the home side 2-1 ahead.
Barnet failed to come up with an equaliser and slumped to their seventh consecutive away league defeat. The Bees have now only managed four points out of their last ii league games and have dropped another place to 18th. One can only ponder on how many managers would still be in a job following a run as poor as this.
