Barnet won their second successive League Two win this afternoon at Plainmoor, beating Torquay United 1-0 to go 6th in the table. This win was Barnet's first away win since winning 2-0 at Gillingham in April and only their second away win of the year.

Barnet arrived in Devon wit a number of injury problems, particularly in defence. Joe Devera, Daniel Leach and Kenny Gillet joined Gary Breen on the injured list and the Bees' back four contained three players signed after being on trial this summer. Ahmed Deen made his full debut after coming on as a substitute for Gillet against Morecambe on Tuesday, while former Reading youngster, Clovis Kamdjo made his Bees' debut alongside Ismail Yakubu at the centre of the defence. Ryan O'Neill continued at right back. In midfield, Mark Hughes was fit to return to the central midfield in place of Nicky Deverdics, who had to settle for a place on the bench. John O'Flynn was named as one of the substitutes.

Barnet were the first out of the blocks with Albert Adomah having a shot blocked by Torquay's Chris Todd in the first minute. Torquay the started to push the Bees back in the defence and had most of the pressure without really threatening Jake Cole in the Barnet goal.

Albert Adomah hit a shot on goal from a free kick on 21 minutes as the Bees began to apply some pressure of their own and then on 25 minutes, Todd was booked for a foul on Albert Jarrett. Barnet then went ahead from the ensuing free kick taken by Albert Adomah which went straight into the Torquay net without anyone getting a touch.

Torquay made a first half substitution, bringing on striker, Lee Mansell for Todd, but the Bees continued to have chances and Jarrett saw his shot go over the bar from inside the box. Adomah then had the ball in the Torquay net a second time but was flagged offside. Just before the end of the half, Adomah saw a shot from outside the box go just wide.

The home side came out determined to draw level as soon as possible and Barnet found themselves under a bit of pressure. Cole was forced to save from Nicholson and Carayol as the home side began to control the game. On 50 minutes, Jake Hyde managed a shot for the Bees but saw it well saved by Scott Bevan in the Gulls' goal.

Carayol saw a shot go just wide of the post before Jake Hyde saw a shot from 20 yards blocked. On 56 minutes, Wayne Carlisle replaced Danny Stevens for the Gulls. Five minutes later, Barnet brought on Yannick Bolasie for Adomah. O'Neill was then booked for a challenge on Carayol. Cole then saved a shot from Nicky Wroe and the Gulls' midfield player then hit a shot from outside the penalty area just over the bar.

Torquay were having most of the possession but the Bees' makeshift back four were holding on. On 74 minutes, Torquay replaced Scott Rendell with former Aldershot striker, Tim Sills but the closest Torquay came was from a Carayol cross which Carlisle headed just wide.

On 82 minutes, Elliott Charles came on for Jake Hyde as the home side continued to press for an equaliser with Wroe and Mansell coming close. On 87 minutes, Paul Furlong was booked and Joe Tabiri came on for Ryan O'Neill. Carayol hit a shot from outside the penalty box just wide as the match went into injury time, the referee adding an extra five minutes on, but the Bees held out for an excellent win away from home.
